Well done.I'm into micro RC planes.I design my own.now everything is getting smaller,especially li-po batteries, it's much easier now to build small aircraft.I do buy micros aswell.I've had alot of fun with my WLTOTS Cessna.and the flyzone albatross.

Hi. Great video! Did you took off the gyro from the PCB?

I made something similar to the old E-Flite Ember using the WLToys F929 spare part receiver/servo unit and spare part wings & tail from the Hisky Buzz. I used the same motor as you (F929). The unit works with the old model WLToys helicopter transmitter which costs only $25 or so. It is fractionally lighter than your V911 part and you can add an aileron servo to it (although I haven't done that yet). If you mount it horizontally, the gyros work to stabilize the model. I like your model a lot! It is really great for beginners and you can put a model together very cheaply.

Thank you for your post. The 3Ch WLtoys V911 RX and F929/F939 Power Units are the best combination fit to small plane ever. Their low cost give valuable work anyone can fly.

Hi Amnuey. The use of these components is an inexpensive way to build small foam planes. There are some disadvantages though : for example because the transmitter has no model memories, there is no way to easily store trim changes from model to model and any changes in surface movement must be done mechanically. I just tried this out as an experiment and it really does work. My model only uses the motor from the F929 unit as with the gearbox it would be too powerful. I did buy a F929 Polecat and this is certainly no model for a beginner! You approach is much better.

Colin T Head I used WLtoys v911 4ch transmitter. Frsky tx is normally work by do follow these instructions 1) make sure your tx set in AFDS rx mode ( AFDS2A ) 2) plugs the li-po to Wltoys v911 Rx 3) press and hold "bind button" on frsky transmitter and turn on transmitter master power switch. 4) release bind button and turn off master power switch. 5) turn on the transmitter again so now you will hear the servos sound , RX is ready to work. Note: step 3 must do after step 2 with in 5 sec.

Checking out the links, but some are broken. Looks to be a good trainer design too. I don't have access to Depron foam board in the USA, so I will have to use other options. Thinking I would make the fuselage a few layers thicker. It won't add much weight, so it should be fine.

I used UHU Por for depron attached, glue gun for motor mounting and tape for battery holding. The way I apply them is very basic as other R/C model builders do. The transmitter and Rx. are all dug from helicopter brand WLtoys V911.

Search word ( in google image); RX - "v911 receiver board" Pro gear set and motor - "f929 propeller" Yes!! Rx is ducked from r/c heli. All part name vary to who that call so i cann't spec them exactly.

All are great!! but the motor and prop set need more modify than using WLtoys F929,F939's power unit set. There's have no mean to dimensions just find some free RC plan from internet those wing span are 20-24 inch. surly for your project's success.( upper-wing type recommended)

It's three channels to throttle, rudder ( for left-right turn ) and elevator ( for climb and drive ).

I believe 20% of wing chord back from leading edge would be a good starting point...so if your wing is 5'' wide then cg would be 1' back from leading edge

Markzxx it's 20" wings span with 130mm. dia. Props.

The set of power unit in the clip give around 50g. of thrust so the total weight of the plane can be reach 90-100g max. My one is just 35g. Have fun.

Thank you for your shared ideas, I set the project to build some rc plane with simply, easy, and cheap which it was be completed. I have follow the link you shared about DC 3.7V motor size 0716, which it quite not be more power full than the one in the clip, 0820 with gear props of 130mm. thrusts around 50g, and I feel thank you.
