    I like how he uses thicker cf for rigidity and then machines it down to save weight where its not needed on his frames, I've had that in my mind for years, just never had the funding or cad skillz. Thick carbon fibers kind of expensive, I've kind of thought about cutting out layers of thin cheaper cf by hand that over laps to reduce waste then ruff it up and glue it all together as one peice so it can have hollow sections. But i soooo want one of these and a proto5, but my budget only lets me buy cheap frames

  • @PattyFlipz

    @PattyFlipz

    Thanks so much for noticing the details in the design! I’m in the preliminary phases of working on a very cheap 4” ripper Protofpv style. So keep tabs with the channel! If you have a 3d printer, proto5 and proto25 can be purchased without the 3d prints (last colour swatch option in the product pages and you save around 15% all stl files are provided online) making it more affordable. It still comes with all the good stuff like titanium hardware. Hope you can save up some few bones to get it. Would love to have you as a future customer. Thanks for the comment! 👍💪

    Hi! No problem! I’ll answer anyway. Since it’s a stack, As long as the vtx you are using is a single board type it should all fit fine. If it’s the moonlight 4K or o3 any big metal case style, you are gonna need longer stand offs . 👍

    I was thinking of converting my Flywoo Explorer LR4 03 to this frame. Would that stack fit in this frame?

  • @PattyFlipz

    @PattyFlipz

    7 ай бұрын

    Hi Cathy! The stack would fit, but then your O3 won't fit up top without longer stand offs, then it would throw off the whole look. A naked O3 might work maybe? but I don't have those dimensions, but then you would have to make some new prints to hold it too. Also, the explorer motors are 1404, but unfortunately they are 12x12 mount (P25 frame is 9x9), so that won't fit either. The only thing you can swap in is the O3 AU and antenna. The GM10 GPS and buzzer won't fit either, you'll need custom 3d printed mounts... Sorry...but it does sound like a fun project! :D Please review the specifications and recommended parts on the website or the description. Thanks!!

You can see it on the product pic beside the frame: www.protofpv.com/product-page/proto25-micro-long-range-ripper - If you end up not needing it, some people also just use it as stack tie down with nuts, and then you can secure accessories on top of it with zip tie. yeah that be really cool! I did play around with the idea, but at the 3" to 3.5" size it starts making sense not to stack everything on top of each order (in order to keep the no props in view feature). If I simply change the baseplate to longer arms, props will become in view, OR I can make the camera cage longer... but then it will start having turtle neck look aesthetic.

Please note in this video, the p5 is loaded with a 120g gopro mini 11 hanging upside down under the quad (touching landing pad!), and using a 1400 6s lion on top, and smaller 4.9" props: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fWx-x5qhXbCaccY.htmlsi=14V4mT6bG9hdbTG4
