How to Build Next Level Shop Shelves// Shop Organization Idea

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I build this set of shop shelves to help better organize all the small parts and a cabinet above to keep dust off of other items stored on the shelves.

Awesome storage upgrade. I'm in need of something like this. My advice for working with your wife. Remember, just because you have more experience doesn't mean you know better. Different perspectives bring fresh ideas.

Never got the argument "ruff cuts, then final cuts". All that waste add up during time. I just measure twice, cut once, and try to keep the off cuts to a minimum.

Sometimes you gotta cut boards down first so you're not jointing, planing, and dimensioning oversized pieces unnecessarily. I'm not getting a perfect 90, 45, or whatever from a board that's still wonky. My order almost always starts with the miter saw for rough cuts, then jointer, planer, and finally sled or miter saw, and rip. Ripping last is ideal for cleaning up fuzz from crosscuts but it rarely works out that way for me.

When working with your spouse; talk with the other, brainstorm, think out loud in the same manner you would in a professional setting with any other person you have respect for in that specific industry or site. Best part of my career was working with my wife, she was my boss too anyone that was new on the job didn't have a clue it was that professional. Separate the work and the personal stuff. It will show you how wise you were to have chosen that life partner.

Nice to see a family working together. I assume you licked the sawdust because you lost a bet (or one too many beers). Inset handles for pocket doors would keep the cabinet even more dust free. Subscribed.

I have always tried to get my wife out in the garage with me. When we were dating and young, I soured that. I had a temper and minimal patience for her ignorance. Biggest advice I could give - PATIENCE. She doesn't have the knowledge or experience you do. Say thanks a lot and over look her 'cluelessness'. Don't expect her to work like one of the other guys on the crew.
