I've always built my own aquarium stands so I've just been doing that for my frogs too. I'm getting rid of my last Reef tank cuz I recently had a son and I can't keep up on my Reefs anymore, who woulda thunk babies need so much damn attention! 😁 So my frog collection has grown quite a bit, much easier to care for and it's a lot like Reefing when it comes to scaping with all live plants and animals and clean up crews. I'd probably get these racks too but I'm pretty broke. Love what the room has become Troy and these Highland Seriensis I got from you are doing amazing 👍🏼 Good look bro!
Amazing!!! Well worth the wait, Troy. Now I'm going to wait on the wire rack I was thinking about.
Wow, those look fantastic!! Your frog room is gonna look amazing. Looking forward to seeing all your vivariums set up on the new racks. I have to say you are a true inspiration for any dart frog hobbyists. Always looking forward to your videos. Fantastic job dude!!!

Just needed to comment on as many videos as I can to help out the algorithm. The production value on your videos, especially the last couple of years has been top notch. How you don't have more subscribers is beyond insane. Keep up the great work! These are my go to videos to watch as I'm barely getting into the hobby. Thanks for all you do!
Yea I need to do some upgrades and I used to actually work for a place that made display racks, my job was welding the seems and cutting and bending those tubes. I might have to go talk to my old boss and could likely get most of the supplies for a rack like that for free 🤷♂️ worth a shot. Some times it not what you know but who you know🤘🏻. Honestly it came out amazing and definitely can’t wait to see the rest of the stands finished and thank you for the idea 💡

This is such a great looking system. Thanks for sharing this! I'm looking into something similar, and I was wondering if you went with 0.065 thickness for the aluminum tubing? Does it fit well with the steel core connectors?
Hi Troy, will be interested to see how you go racking the larger vivariums. If you have time a short video would be awesome. Should allow for a massive expansion to the frog room.

Great job, Troy. Always look forward to the videos! My question is why are you giving up the Atelopus? Seems like the fringed leaf frogs would just stick to and dirty up the glass. You may also be fishing out drowned crickets in the stream. I might be biased because they are my favorite but Atelopus seem to have a lot more character imo…

Troy, Those racks will transform your room into an even nicer show palace! Same type racks I bought years ago from Vision for my snakes. But I have a question. There isn't a center brace so the vivarium only sits on the front and back cross bars. If the vivarium is bumped into can it slip off the front bar and wedge in between the 2 bars possibly cracking the glass? Thanks
@TroyGoldberg
2 жыл бұрын
Just need to attatch something on the back so the tank can’t slide off
Hello, beautiful project. But do the terrariums only rest on the front and rear bars of the rack, or have you installed a shelf on each level of the structure?
amazing, Troy what lights do you use in your terrarium? You can send a link, thank you

So I assume the tanks just sit on the frame around it’s edge with no support for the middle parts of the tank bottoms? Assume the glass bottoms themselves are sting enough to cope. This does look so much nicer will have to look into this

Would this system hold 2 18x18s side b side before another upright? I think I'd follow your advice and have 3 cross pieces if that makes a difference.

Got one wall done… it’s gonna be a little while… quite a bit of work
Hey, first, love you, your videos and the rack! I just got some questions; couldn’t that Terrarium just slip by like 3cm and fall off? And does the glass floor really hold the weight of the whole terrarium with just the front and back side on the bar? And what would be the max terri size for this kind of rack system be? Sorry for the many question but if anybody here has some experience i would be very thankful for every tip!
@TroyGoldberg
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you need to put some sort of brace on the back so it can’t slide off… and yes the front and back hold all the weight… there’s not much weight on the bottom pane of glass
@TroyGoldberg

@@TroyGoldberg Great Thank you so so much!
Sorry for the unrelated question (to this video), but I'm at quite a loss. How the hell do you make moss grow? I built my first terrarium about 2 years ago, and most is going great. Almost all plants are doing great, bromelias are producing a lot of offspring, even most orchids are fine. But I just can't get moss to grow. I used local and tropical, seeds and patches... the seeds worked fine in the beginning, but after creating a beautiful peice of moss, went black and died down. The patches either die or, if I'm lucky, survive, but never grow. (again, in 2 years...) What is the secret of moss growth?

Is there any reason one couldn’t build an enclosure using the aluminum tube system and the glass/panel track pieces they have available? Presumably it wouldn’t rust, but I imagine I’m missing something important.
@TroyGoldberg

Silicone doesn’t bond to aluminum like it does glass… there would likely be leaks
