What? No Kittie this time? Love your vids, Mel, and I really appreciate that you show people how much you can do with simple tools and cheap materials. My friend and I built a tiny house many years ago now. We had no access to electricity where we built, so it was all done with normal cheap hammers, saws and screwdrivers. We had some wonderful summers in that house and it still stands. =)

Hi Mel, Maxus o'clock :-). Getting my 1st van on Monday, Kent to Chester for a maxus :-) Sounds like a gd buy 07 6m ticket 103,000 company owned for 7 years. Shame its a low roof but it's less noise on the motorway. Will be searching for tips on how to sort things. Happy days :-)

Sounds great make sure the demising fan works on all speeds remember it’s got a cam belt that will need changing oh and check the rear fog light switch is working but most importantly don’t ever jump start it you will blow the trip counter on the speedo and it will go from 103,000 to 703,000 also make sure all the doors lock and unlock with the remote I think that covers all there quirks Good luck with it there fantastic vans I’d definitely buy another one 👍🤓👍

Hi Mel, great vid once again! I learned a lot from watching that vid. I like the way you used wood twice the width of the cross members & also leaving space for the laminate floor under the cooler box. Just a though thought, would it not be a good idea to move the cooler box as far away from the log burner as possible, so the cooler doesn't have to work overtime to keep things cool?
@BigVanSmallWorld

Hi I’m glad you found it useful and your absolutely rite I’ll probably move the cooler to the other end away from the stove thanks for the tip and positive feedback 👍🤓👍
I’m really regretting building that workshop and buying all those expensive tools now 😀 How high will the top of the seat cushion be off the floor when done? Can you lift the lid of the cool box from inside the bench if you board the front in later?

Sounds horrible and painful 😣
If you cover the board with your foam and cover, then you won't be able to fit your hinges externally, and the cushion will stop the panel from opening (you will be squashing it against the wall). Although the 'pillow case' system seems more awkward to start with, it makes the whole setup more versatile (plus easier to clean, which you might appreciate next to the wood burner).

Hiya Mel... lt's me again. Yet another dumb question (coz that's all l'm good at): How thick is the foam going to be? I only ask because l foresee a possible snag when folding the bench seat up: it'll hit the wall about halfway open, defeating the purpose. (l know you have a trick up your sleeve, so please enlighten us) 😁 👍👍👍
You putting any air holes in the base so the foam can breath ? If you hinge the seat won’t it catch the back as you lift it up ? Loving this build Mel always a pleasure to watch your vids mate 👍 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year fella 👍🍾

Hi Mel, just a couple of questions, is the cooler to close to the fire place, and if you get stains on the bench seat, how will you clean it if it's stapled down, great van build😁
@BigVanSmallWorld
4 жыл бұрын
Hi I only put the cooler that end to demonstrate the height il be careful not to put any stains on the cover 😂👍
@DavidTangye
4 жыл бұрын
In my 3 different builds have built my squabs the same way by stapling them down. I lived in the second one for 4 years. I recently unstapled and replaced the covers, as the old ones were looking worn. I have never spilt anything on any of them, but I have also had a loose fabric cover on too, for protection against spills.
Looking good Mel, it's coming along a a great pace. Let me know if you're ever up in Scotland. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes, Drew
