    That timber had such beautiful colour and the tops turned out great. Shame so many timbers like this end up scraped during demos. I hope the client sealed the underside as well as top and edges. Sadly many timber bench tops are ruined due to neglecting the underside. Timber panels aways need equal finishes both sides, but some people learn the hard way.

    I just looked them up thinking I should try to get one for my small space. Holy Crap, with prices like those, they are not for the average shop. I'm guessing with those high prices they must be top quality. Sadly, I'll be sticking to the lower end of the market.

    Hi! Really craftman-sy videos you make! I like them! And am hoping for more good stuff to come. On a side note: I've been interested in the tools the different DIY-people and craftsmen on KZread use in their videos. And yours is just hilarious! Ryobi (green and red), Bosch (green and blue), Makita, AEG ... it's just all over the place! :D Is there any reason for that? How did you decide why you got this or that tool from this or that manufacturer? I'd be interested in an answer! Regards from Germany, Kai PS: I forgot: NIce music! Very relaxing!

    Lovely work, simple clean and elegant. Very well explained and thought out too. A nice workshop with comparatively basic machinery ( no cnc just a brain )are you in some sort of co op building? I like the Marri but Jarrah is nicer I think. Some doors might be a good way to show off all that lovely Jarrah. Liked and subscribed, also watched other vids. I'll look forward to more mate. Cheers from Tas

    Cheers mate. What sort of price do you put on things like the herringbone table? Would those Jarrah beams normally be trashed or burnt? On the west coast of Tas they often use Huon Pine for firelighters.

    leigh jones hi, I only really use the domino for end grain to end grain or end grain to edge grain joints, there's really no need for using the domino for panel glue ups, seems a bit excessive.

    Nicely done! Just curious, is there any reason to make two passes with the saw? I saw a shallow one, then a deeper one. Keep them coming.

    Colum Black-Byron hi Thanks, I think it's just a habit I've got into when working with recycled timbers, you just don't know what's inside so I'm just careful when chopping down long lengths.

    Fair enough, I wasn't sure if it was making neater cuts or something. Keep it up! And I'm jealous about access to that massive drum sander. I have a desk I built a while back, and I was trying to make it perfectly flat by hand, and it was a little impossible.

  • @saltwooddesigns9099

    @saltwooddesigns9099

    Colum Black-Byron I actually did this again today( the two passes) it does make a difference. If you push the saw fully down and across the blade angle in relation to the wood causes tear out on the top. If you do a shallow pass the blade angle pushes the chips back rather than up and give you a much cleaner cut on the top edge.

    I think it is Nick ferry or Jay Bates who has a vid explaining exactly why it is beneficial and necessary to make cuts in this way. I'm sure it's Jay Bates. Search both. It is a great explanation.
