    I can already tell you its more nimble but that could be partially due to the suspension changes. The overall truck weight is down a bit but we haven't confirmed the weight on the scales yet.

    Ahh! Doing research on gears and so many posts point to 5.29's with 33's so I thought I had it put to bed... Then I come across this video. 4.88's are back on the table I guess. Do you have any regrets going 4.88 and not doing the 5.29's?

  • @mbrk683
    @mbrk6834 жыл бұрын

    Jason, why the 4.88? Not going to give you the low end offroad once you are loaded. I have the Khaya 4 and my 18 with a manual on 34s is like your 20 auto with 5.29. I am still contemplating 4.88 as well. Just curious if you are going to have other plans. Just think you may be a little unhappy with the gearing and that tall of a tire.

    The SPOD controls all accessories in the truck, not the camper. There is a cutoff for the camper under the hood but that's it.

    Do you have to relocate your rear and front diff, transmission and transfer case breathers?

  • @msoverland

    @msoverland

    3 жыл бұрын

    Your rear breather on the Tacoma is only on top of the rear differential. So yes, you should raise the breather and install a long line up to (at least) bed level.

    @@msoverland Thank you for the quick reply. How about the front diff, transmission and transfer case breathers? I’ve seen videos on rear differential relocation but not on the other breathers in the Tacomas. Are they necessary? I’ve read somewhere (couldn’t find it anymore) that Toyota had already relocated the front diff, transmission and transfer case high enough to were we don’t need to relocate them anymore. Not planning to go thru any water crossing anytime soon, but would love to see how to relocate them all, if needed.
