How To build an EASY cheap Work Bench

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Easy Cheap work bench build with integrated table saw. In this video I show how to build a workbench with a table saw integrated into the bench. This is a great solution for a small work space as it serves as a practical outfeed table for a table saw as well as a great storage solution. The work benches main purpose is of course to serve as a great comfortable work surface for all your wood working projects.
The final dimensions of this particular bench are -
2440mm long x 1220mm wide and 920mm high (These dimensions are to suit my main purpose of building gates on here). This bench is probably far too big for most, but just make your bench to your specific requirements.
Material list -

Thanks, yes it is solid and serves as a great outfeed table for the table saw. Probably a little too big but I plan on using a lot of the underside as storage so serves multiple purposes. Loving it so far 👍

I enjoyed watching the method used to measure and align your table saw to the bench top. It turned out great. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

Nice set up! I hope to get my house sold, and buy a bigger place to build a nice shop or two! Then I can get my video better and more consistent.

Thanks buddy, yes, that's what we did about 10 years ago, it is great to have more space (but never enough 😂). I am just currently trying to set up a dedicated work shop for wood and metalwork hence the new workbench. Looks like I can get some good ideas from your channel, Looks good, I'm away to have a watch now. All the best and hope you get a bigger place sorted in the future. 👍😎

It will have to do Ian, should do the job and great to finally have the table saw mounted as opposed to using anything and everything as an outfeed table 😂 Cheers for the comment bud ! 👍

This is great!! Looks simple and structural 🥳 does it matter what type of plywood you use? Like cabinet grade vs regular sheeting?

  • @Bacrenfencing

No it does not matter what plywood you use, just make sure it is heavy duty enough to make a solid top. I used 3/4" plywood for mine as it gives a nice flat surface and it is solid. You can use anything really, plywood, heavy MDF or even make solid timber glued together - whatever suits your purpose and budget. Thanks for the comment 👍😀

Great video, I’m keen to try and make something similar. How do you find the stability of the castors in their locked position when using the bench? Would it be worthwhile thinking about the retractable type castors that allow the legs to sit on the ground when castors not in use?

  • @Bacrenfencing

Thanks Gary, to be honest I think the retractable type would be more stable as the castors on mine do move very slightly even when locked off, but it does not bother me too much. Thanks for the comment 👍
