Works a treat. Now I can see exactly how cold hearted the mother in law is.

How well does it work for finding failed components on a PCB? Please make a detailed video of this.

honestly, the sensor's resolution is not very good to work with PCB thermals. But still, you can use this to see the heat dissipation on a heat sink or to check on switching devices. will consider making a video on this as well 👍

Is there anyway to get the frame rate a little higher on this camera

You can, but you will need to optimize the interpolations. The calculations need for the interpolation will take a bit of time. If you can optimize it further or to use an entirely different interpolation method you can get better frame rate. The other possibility is to use some other, better performing SoC like STM32F405 or similar. Especially one that have better performance in floating point calculations.

hi, We haven't measure the current consumption. But it stays one for more than two days with 1000mAh battery.

Should combine it with a normal camera too to make an overlay, so you can get some detail (thats what normal thermal cameras also do)

There are commercial cameras available with and without image overlay. It can be done by interfacing an OV2640 module with the ESP32.

@@CircuitdigestI would love this as well, but I'm a noob, and would require more than a hint to be able to do this. Halp??

we have also built quite a few projects with stm32 circuitdigest.com/stm32-projects-and-tutorials - but for this project esp32 seemed to be much better choice mainly because o its community support
