A simple low cost, very effective way to stop water and clay from messing up your studio. It also gives you plenty of space on your wheel platform.
Жүктеу.....

Love it. That’s the ONE thing I don’t like about my shimpo whisper, not so much that the round splash basin is too small, rather that the water, wet sponges etc have to sit outside it’s protection, when teaching floor gets messy. My Gladstone has the large basin, less messy and easier to clean. Ive been thinking a lot about having a word with a local boatyard, see if I can get them to make something out of fibreglass. Roderveld make a wheel with a very generous basin

It is easy to build and keeps the mess contained.

Thanks for sharing the very beautiful view of where you live. We visited the lower half of Canada in 2017 and 2018, but have yet to visit your area. Hope to visit Maine sometime for lobster, so hopefully when all this crappy Covid-19 stuff is over finish my visits to Canada.

I hope so too but beware, we came on holiday here and on the way home made an offer on this property, no regrets. Thanks for watching the videos.

Sanding and varnishing video to follow? Wonderful walk to the studio for you to appreciate every time you make it.

No sanding, it gets covered in clay immediately, although I did varnish thickly.

Is your pottery wheel a Shimpo RK Whisper? I want to be sure. Mine has a yellow splash pan with a bit of a shelf molded into the plastic. It has these v cuts molded into the front splash pan side. I’m not happy with the splash pan. It’s a pain to clean & will drip onto the floor if the water gets high in the pan when throwing. Thank you for the beautiful walk. Wow what an inspiration to work within.

No just a Shimpo Whisper. I used to have the RK Shimpo, it is also a nice wheel.

Cool adaptation. Do you also use the splash pan within that structure?
