It’s so wonderful to be able to pull up vids while researching pottery supplies and techniques etc. I just want to say how appreciative I am for you knowledgeable and insightful instructions and always click when I see you have something to contribute in the particular area I’m trying to understand. Really enjoy your clever wit and lighthearted humor, cheers.

I enjoyed the giggle after you told the story with your hat falling on the pedal. We potters have these stories right.

I had a flashlight sitting on the deck and just finished a 10lb vase. I was done I stood up picked up the water bucket which hit the light and landed on the foot pedal. It happens so quick watching the whole thing fly apart in every direction.

this is 1/2 HP 100 Lb . max clay weight model, i think. some very few people say it lacks low end torque. while i have not used this unit i was glad to see that you showed that it does indeed have capable low end torque. question ? is not the pedal adjustable to finesse its responsiveness ?

Thank you for your time to share yourself with your videos... Do you feel that there is an ideal temperature to keep ones studio? For example, to archive overnight drying for leather hard clay. Peace

Not sure you'll pick this message up on this old vid but the basin of my shimpo keeps leaking, any tips? I can't see how I can tighten it together any better. Hope someone can shed some light as to what I might be able to do. Thank you

This wheel is at my school, along with other older model shimpos. It's by far my favorite! I notice you trim on the bats in your videos. I trim directly on the wheel and I'd like to add that trimming on the whisper is a little harder than the yellow table top shimpos. The whisper has tiny grooves on the wheel head (like old vinyl records do) that make it harder for trimming when you're only adhering your piece with water. If you use lugs, there's really no difference, but since i just wet the lip and the wheel, I've found that the grooves don't provide as good of a suction as other shimpo wheels do. Btw, I absolutely love watching your videos! You've taught me so much :)!

Yes i trim on the bats as the wheelhead has batpins which might lacerate my hands if i did not ! Yes getting the right amount of moisture on the rim and wheelhead and some downward pressure is key to getting it stick. Well done for not using lugs of clay !

I knew we were in it for the long haul when he said "as you can see it has three legs..." Still going on about legs at 2:40.

My S.Whisper did not come with bat pins or a plastic batt. But Shimpo will sell an alternative batt head for £260 YES £260 which will take drop in batts at silly £ per batt. I notice the USA S.Whisper came with batt pins is that because they demand quality and we just take what we’re given - feeling angry

Eddy Ward ...if it's the same wheel head as ours over here you can drill it out and put a couple of Allen bolts with the heads to take the bats, just measure accurately and away you go ! ... (maybe !?)

Simon Leach thank you Simon, I only use batts for plates and usually use clay pad which is a messy, I’ve had this wheel a couple of years and really like it but bit ticked off that I have to drill; which I shall, myself - btw it’s Susy ward - eddy is a grandson- I have to arm wrestle my iPad and laptop from the little dears so names get changed - love your TV, keep practicing
