How to Build a Simple Folding workbench

Here is a super easy DIY workbench that only takes a few hours to build and is inexpensive. It takes up very little room as it hangs on your wall until you need it! This is great for beginning woodworkers who are lacking a lot of space in their home workshop.
Materials used...
7- 2x4x8ft lumber
1- 4x8 1/2in plywood
4- 4 inch bolts (3/8)
4- 3/8 bolt nut
8- washers
2.5 inch screws

    Looks good but I probably wld have made the bottom board on the wall more like a French cleat… so the table top wld have a grove to set in that way it can’t get knocked off so easily

    That wouldn’t be a bad idea!! However because of tables weight it’s really secure. Someone would have to intentionally pull it for it to fall off the bottom board. You’re idea would prevent it from happening at all which is smart!

    Really economic design. Love it. A rotating cam retainer would be a good solution to accidental slippage at the bottom. Simple wooden block would do. A French cleat would require a lift and then tilt to drop the table for use which would defeat how easy this thing is to deploy. Would feel a bit more comfortable with a more robust latch at the top.

    I appreciate it! And that rotating retainer is a great idea! I do plan on replacing the latch in the future. It was pretty cheap 😂
