@@CozyRC Yeah quite icy here too. I miss the good old rainny days in the UK. lol I'm getting my 1/5 scale going. The 1/10 ( aroun 600mm long) version 3 is progressing nicely. I weighed the boat body today 750g without any electronics. Not too bad. Question for you Sir. Would you think a a 4082 motor would be enough to move a boat about 1200mm and short of 3.5kg? Or should I think about going with something bigger? Cheers

@NoMatterDesign Good to hear that your projects are going well! A 1200mm hull is pretty big. In my opinion, too big for a 4082 motor. Besides the hull weight, the motor needs to move the hull surface through the water. 3.5kg is extremely light for such a big hull. Do you mean empty hull weight? My T800 F1 Tunnel weighs about 3.1kg ready to run, and it's only 830mm long. ✌️

@CozyRC Hi. Thank you for your reply. As you can see my knolage in RC ends the moment I finish printing something. Yes I was referring to the empty weight of the 1/5 Hull. It's made in sections and glued for shape. Then epoxied for esthetics and toughness. Since its a monocoque construction it ends up pretty light. Hull itself is 1050mm the rest is the motor. Combined, assembled length is 1200mm. Cheers

En el aeromodelismo en vez de usar bridas para conseguir dar las curvas a los listones utilizamos alfileres y así no pierdes la brida el alquiler lo clava solo hasta la punta y luego lo recuperas

Good advice! But the stringers are bent under quite some tension sometimes, and then a ziep tie will work great. Thanks for your comment ✌️

Do you guys sell boat hill plans. I found you looking for I for on the “wild thing” hull. Looks like you built a 32” for p mono. I have a 22” version that was built for n mono. Great work keep it up!

Dj how come you do not apply fiberglass or carbon fiber to the bottom sheeting inside before you attach them to the frames in a wet condition?

Hola amigo, nuevamente yo por aquí. Nos hemos inscrito yo, junto con un par de docentes de mi universidad a un concurso nacional en mi país donde debemos construir un bote de dos metros de eslora, este debe contar con sistemas de reconocimiento de bojetos, evación de obstáculos, etc... Queremos un bote agresivo puesto será en la escuela de la Armada Colombiana. El punto es: El diseño del bote de este video siempre me ha gustado, pensaba en pedirte los planos para escalarlos y comenzar a construir. Aún estoy evaluando el sistema de propulsión para tales dimensiones pero el financiamiento lo da la universidad donde me gradué. Por cierto, soy ingeniero electrónico y este es mi mayor pasatiempo, una forma de trabajar y no aburrirse. Saludos y espero con positivismo tu respuesta!

But the cost to power it, will be high. Luckily, you got funding from the university. Ya había comenzado un proyecto personal, un catarán de 1.20 metros, pero quedé a la mitad, espero algún día poder terminarlo. Estoy muy agradecido contigo :)

Thank you! I control it with a 2 channel 2.4Ghz transmitter. 1 channel for throttle and 1 channel for steering. ✌DJ
