I used primarily the metal I had on hand but bought the 4x4 tubing new. . No telling what creations are in the metal pile...haha Thanks and have a great week

Loved the rain, too cold for rain here, it would be snow. Nice job on the hammer. Now you can see that it was pretty involved.

Have you tested to see what pound force it hits with? More than manually swinging a hammer? Less? Easier of course but I was curious as to the poundage.

It is a 16 lbs hammer head, the leaf spring adds a little extra down force too at the bottom of the stroke. The beam is 3 foot . I bet there is a formula out there that could answer that . Thanks

Assuming Energy = Mass x Velocity: Did you calculate the Hammer Velocity in a 'free drop' compared to the velocity in the 'controlled down motion'? Of course RPM and belt-tension is going to play a major role in the outcome. In other words, is the hammer velocity =/> than it would with be with the DaVinci Cam hammer?

It's simple, Just go to avasva page - and enter the Eco World.

Rusty, I'm considering taking a stab at building something similar to your hammer. Just concerned, because I haven't seen a video yet showing actual use of the hammer. If it wasn't successful for you, I didn't want to waste my time and effort in making one. Thanks!

Finished my version of your power hammer. Turned out pretty good! It probably ran me around $500 in materials to build it. Just retired and had a great time making it. Already used it once on a project and it worked pretty good! Beats the hammer and anvil. I posted a short video on KZread at kzread.info/dash/bejne/h4mrz8inYdLMnag.html. Rusty Glovebox looks effective, I wonder if it would work better if you filled the front post with some weight. might keep it from hopping so much and make each strike more effective.. nice job

That might work, I recently made a rounded top for the the anvil I can remove to be able to draw and move the metal with more controlled. Hope to get it out and give it a try soon. Take care
