Awesome mate, I always wanted to build one. Now I'm going have to give it a go. It's cool to see you worked out the transition to 6ft as most skatepark designers overlook this and it makes it hard to skate if you dont. You probably have the best mini ramp in the valley. Great video

Perfect timing for this video. I’m was just looking yesterday for plans for and 8’ wide, 2-3’ high mini ramp for my garage. Most plans have an 8’ flat section, but I was wondering if 4’ would work since I have limited space. Looks like it would be perfect for a small ramp to learn lip tricks. 👍

Stumbled on this video as about to do exactly the same at home, with similar dimensions. I have about 16' (4.8m) depth/length to play with, but will alter the depth of the platforms if needed. Main goal is to make sure there's enough flat so that's not too whippy. Yours looks like it works well, how much space did you have been the fence and the wall? Cheers

Cool ramp mate. I built a similar one in my parents back yard when I was 16. Had hours of fun and learnt a lot building and skating it. Must have drove the neighbours nuts with the noise from it. Only problem is the climate in NZ being rather wet during the winter. Takes days for the ramp to dry out and when it does eventually the ply gets really slow. I hope to build one again one day but this time I'm going to make it out of concrete.

Looks fun! The drop is not very steep, so for anyone used to skating a regular mini of similar height, this is going to feel a lot like dropping into a bank. As a life long skateboarder (~20 years) I would suggest elongating the flat part (maybe 0.5-2 meters or so) to get a slightly steeper transition.

Hey Josh, I saw that your top support under the copping was mostly knotted and will break eventually if someone is distastering often in the center. I'd brace it a bit with some studs for longevity. Sick mini bro

Hey! Great build man. I am finishing up my 2 ftx10ft mini this week and had a question. How would you recommend to space out the screws on the plywood layers so they don't overlap? I am doing 3 layers total.

@@nzbuilder I did 3 with the 3rd as 5mm underlay and painted then polyurethaned it to harden the surface more

I ended up using two layers of H3 9mm CD ply, I had to soak it quite a bit to get it to bend, If I did it again I would consider 3 layers of 7mm, haven't sealed it yet, but thinking after this winter I will do something, Its still going strong 1 year in :)

Do an update video on the ramp man did it get wet and slow? Did u paiint it with skate paint whatever they call it

hey it’s been a while since I built this, from memory about 10 sheets of ply and about 36 lengths of 2.4m 4x2 - draw it out on paper first to do some calculations 👍🏽

awesome thanks, only thing I’d change next time is 3 layers of 7mm ply, not two layers of 9mm and I’d use skate lite on top if I could find it easily
