In this video I’m building one of the first pieces of furniture I designed when I started my custom furniture business, a mid-century inspired lounge chair called the GLENN. We also created long form video plans that can be purchased on our website, so go check that out if you want to build one of these for yourself. This build utilized plenty of interesting woodworking techniques including template routing, transition sanding, bevel cutting, jig making, domino connecting, and a lot of rocking good times.

@Danny Bishop Definitely, I have been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :D
The number one thing I incorporated into my wood working that took my quality to the next level....long sleeve flannel shirts.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzread.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Nice use for the track saw! I can honestly say that never occurred to me. Those chairs are such a classic design. As I write this comment, I am looking at a pair of chairs my parents bought in the fifties, that are very similar. Love your take on them!
I've gotta say after long searching for my outside patio enclosure furniture your chair is what I have chosen for many sentimental reasons. I am obsessed with planetary sciences and was brought to my forever home on the day off the moon landing. I think this is a perfect choice. Thank you for the design and the name. Can't wait to attempt to make it. Your awesome in my book. I absolutely love what you guys do. I hope to become at least half as great at making furniture as you guys. Ide settle for even being a fraction lol
As much as I love all the work foureyes does, this is the one I feel like I could actually use in my apartment. Thank you for making it. I intend to get plans in a month or so, and it will be my first real furniture making (no disrespect to Anna White, but you know what I mean)
Best woodworking montage I’ve seen 😂

I wouldn’t even limit it to woodworking. Right up there in quality with any comedy film. Loved it. 🤣
It's amazing how there are tutorials on KZread of practically any of the great designs of the Mid-Century Modern style, including the best sellers. The truth is that wonderful things can be done just by having the right materials at home and the necessary knowledge. I have an LC4 Lounge Chaise that I bought at Manhattan Home Design and I really can't imagine what it would be like to try to make it at home. Thank you for sharing this. :)
Sean, You definitely have the craftsman gene in you. You are truly talented, my friend. Thanks for sharing, Felix

I would love to build this, along with some of your other projects, but simply don't have the time or tools right now. This seems like the perfect project to a flat pack, RTA, project. I know it goes against your "grain" but if you built the leg/arms, base and back they could be shipped for a lot less money. I would certainly be interested.
I've been watching your videos for a couple years and you guys always helped me to be a better woodworker, tank you for everything.... Filipe Rogers from Brasil

I think there should be an art gallery for all the clamps during the glue-up. There are always some interesting new ways people clamp things together.

The scene going into the sponsor was great - and that montage. HAH! You guys are great together. The chair turned out awesome.
The stopwatchery, the double-take on the “Toyota” jump, and the outro...oh the outdo was gold. Proof once again that there is magic in the story and the telling. Well done guys.

Yes! I've been trying to find something just like this to make to replace my ugly oversized love seat
The one minute montage had better character development, story and redemption arch than all of the Wonder Woman 1984 movie. Also cool chair.

Thank you! It is one of my favorite details.
This was the first video of yours I had ever seen on your original channel. It was also the first time I had ever seen a domino and I was like “hmmmm what is this sorcery.....”. And just like that, you cost me 1500 bucks. But it is a game changer and paid for itself with my first two mid century danish reproduction benches. Oh also the first time I had seen templates and flush trim bits (yes I was brand new). Another game changer. Thanks guys. You really make this accessible for the rest of us.

Thank you! Keep working at it and you will be able to knock it out sooner than you think.
Now that I'm about 75% done building my first Glenn Chair, and reviewing the build in my mind (right now I'm sitting and waiting for the miter joint on the seat panels to dry), I think I've come up with a good 'one man shop' order of operations, that would potentially keep you moving: 1. Build seat panels 2. Build seat sides 3. Trim, miter and join seat panels 4. Make leg assemblies 5. Join Seat and seat sides 6. Join full seat assembly to legs 7. All the finishing That's how I'll try building my next one.
I love the video as always!

Beautiful work! I will try to do a chair, but no way closer to those details.
Great Channel. Thank you for what you bring to the wood working community. My wife purchased the mid century chair plans with templates. Very well done. Methodical detailed coaching and tips to be successful. Recommend to any wood worker. Some thoughts for enhancing .... 1 Review in the plans detail for each and every edge round over. I the general public you tube video there is some detail, but between the two sources there is still some guessing 2 Maybe something for separate video , but the total push stroke on the domino needs to be complete. even pushing the take a second at the full stroke position 3. Placement on the clamping aids needs to be in the middle of the width of the boards to reduce or eliminate buckling and bottom joint separation. Just some thoughts. Submitted respectfully
You guys have too much fun. No, seriously. You’re having too much fun!!! Don’t stop. 😉
