How to Build a Humidity System for Growing Mushrooms
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I demonstrate how to build a humidity system to be used in a tent for growing mushrooms.
Water should be changed regularly and the tote should be cleaned. Consider installing UV sterilizer to automate cleaning.

I'm moving up to a large tent now, and this is my next step. I really appreciate your videos!
Tank you from Argentina!
Wow this is awesome I love this great work off yours
I picked this up for work. My last one was smaller kzread.infoUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj and cuter but the motor burned out within a few months. This one's footprint is a tad bigger but it still doesn't eat up a lot of desk space. Its size and shape blends into the background nicely. This has a good size water container so I don't need to refill more than once a week. I use filtered (not distilled) water because cleaning up after our hard water is tough at work. I like that this has several settings. It's also very quiet. (I have a silence naxi in the next cubicle.) It also hasn't left that terrible while powder, so far, that some humidifiers leave. Been using this for a month or so now and am very happy with my purchase.
Amazing 🤩
Good video.
amazing, do you think it would work with 200 l water tank also ?
Fan wiring????
Could you use the tork timer switch instead of the humidistat?
How do you setup the fan? What powers the fan?
what is the temperature of the mist produced
Good job 👍🏼
Thank you for the vid, great info. What brand is the tent you show here?

Do I need a fogger if I have a humidifier
How much water do you go through daily?
do you need to pre filter the foggers fan to stop pulling in any contamination? or does the fogger help resolve this issue?
@SporenSprout
Жыл бұрын
A pre filter is not needed. The fruiting room is naturally non-sterile.
Nice video question for ya I so does this count as fresh air as well for mushrooms are you have to have a whole Nother set up for fresh air
@SporenSprout

I have another set up for fresh air. I use a temperature controlled AC infinity blower to suck fresh air in from outside and then a different blower to push the air out on the other side. I have seen some people use fresh air blower connected to the humidifier to essentially do what you are asking.

What is size of mist maker (mm)
Hey man great video, planning to use with a grow tent. Im assuming i'd make a hole in the tent for the ducting to draw the air from elsewhere. Should i add a filter to sterilize air as it enters ducting? or does sterilizing the air as it enters for the humidifier not important? Thanks!
@SporenSprout

Hey thanks for watching! I actually put the tote inside the grow tent now and the fresh air is brought in through ducting from outside the grow tent into the humidifier tote. I just put abducting filter cap for dust on the end of the ducting bringing in the fresh air. Here’s the ducting caps I bought amzn.to/3EKso43 Here’s a short video I made that you can pause at the end to see the current set up. www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRHLHgnR/

@@SporenSprout thanks again man! an issue i'm having is the water gets too hot too quickly from the discs always running (been using ice to battle it) would you have any suggestions? Im only at the location once a day. I'm thinking people use a water line which is keeping it cold always?
Is there an auto shut off if the water level is low? If so what did you use i need one
@SporenSprout
2 жыл бұрын
They fogger will shut off when the water gets too low but the fan will keep going until the humidity reads above the shut off value.
Ever since moving the humdity tote into your chamber, are you still using the Humidstat controller or have you moved to a timer? I recently moved from the inkbird humidstat to a timer, 15 min on - 1 hour off. Issue with the controller, is I was getting innacurate readings over time, constant re-calibrations etc. I'd sit at 89.9% for 20 minutes and finally reach 90%. Used a monitor to check the humidity and get conflicting readings, Hygrometer reads 83% whilst Inkbird reads 89.9 RH. Quite annoying. Inkbird was calibrated to match hygrometer yet issues still persist. This is my biggest challenge so far.

I know what you mean and I think it’s a good idea to dial in a timer instead of humidity controller. The humidity controller does seem to be inaccurate, I still use it though and found a sweet spot set at 85% humidity that works for me.

I found that this setup (maybe its just my large atomiser) generates a lot of heat that is very hard to cool. what are you suggestions of how to deal with this?
@SporenSprout

I don’t know what atomizer you have but mine doesn’t get hot, I’ve never heard of one producing heat that poses a problem.
Is this efficient for cubensis? If yes What’s your fan schedule like? Do you just keep it at a certain humidity or does it fall to say 90 and then kick on?
@SporenSprout

Yes it will work. Humidity set to turn on at 75 % humidity and turn off at 85%. The in-line /exhaust fans turns on every hour for 5-15 mins.

@SporenSprout
Жыл бұрын
@@brianlapointe4000 Watch this video of the mushrooms growing in the conditions I described. No it doesn’t dry out because the humidistat is set to never go below 75% humidity. The exhaust fan is just used to get rid of co2 and replace with with fresh air and it doesn’t take very long to cycle the air.
@SporenSprout
Жыл бұрын
@@brianlapointe4000 I’m not sure what kind of kit you have. Is it a filter patch bag or a tray with no lid? If it’s a filter patch bag I would just poke some holes in the top of the bag and leave the bag to fruit in-vitro. If it’s in a tray and has an exposed surface it would be placed in a fruiting chamber.
I've heard that mist-making device is quickly dead as soon as you don't use destilated water for it. How it works for you?
@judybhaskaran5721

Use only RO water. Install a Reverse Osmosis water purifier and connect it to the mister.
I made a larger one and the fogg is leaking out some places from under the lid any way ideas?
@SporenSprout
24 күн бұрын
Yeah that is common, you can try to use some type of homemade gasket for the lid or just place the whole tote inside of the grow tent where it’s not much of an issue.
Please, can you put all the links so that we can see the parts, their prices, and the items needed for the mushroom process and purchase them from Amazon?

Yes I have an exhaust fan running for 15 mins every hour. Some people have an exhaust fan running 24/7. You can experiment what works best for you. Basically just need a humidity source and exhaust, I also like to have a separate inline fan bringing in fresh air for 15 mins every hour as well.
