excellent idea for clamping when making your walls...I will definitely use that on mine. as well as the treated 6x6 & wrap...didn't think about that. I have a bunch of old house windows I am going to use on my green house & use a glass film on some of those windows as most greenhouse I have seen

Your workmanship is always amazing! It's just beautiful! I have to agree, the door, where it is now, did turn out to be the best place for it. I also think that color is going to be perfect. I always loved to see a solid white greenhouse, but the stark white gets to ya after a while, and it ends up being this huge white thing that stands out too much, just like you said. I can't wait to see how it looks when it's enclosed. It's going to be so cool to be able to get your seed started in a beautiful greenhouse, with everything you need right there. Last, I'm really liking that foundation, and will be considering it for my shed that has been waiting forever to go up. Only difference is, it will have a floor. I'm so glad you shared this, gave me lots of ideas. Bless, Sheila

I am in Upstate SC. The 55 gal drums have helped. If I was to do this again I would make the north wall solid. Perhaps rock or block. I have solar so I can use a small heater or a heat pump got water. Also might put an additional layer of panels on the inside of the roof to make a dead air space

I like the way you make wooden-framed stuff in the USA. Maybe it has something to do with the relative cost of timber (lumber?) over there compared to here in the UK but you use 2 x 4 where we would be trying to do with 45mm x 45mm (just over 1.75 inch square). And 6x6 for the foundation? - we would be looking for a 25 year mortgage on that 8-)=. Still, we live on a very exposed smallholding on the edge of the Peak District so I tend to be making stuff that is not too much lighter than yours. Like you I'm aiming to make anything I build now last me out.

@@homesteadhandyman4481 Thanks for the reply. Glad you got a good crop from it. If you are like us you will gradually outgrow whatever you build. I built a 30ft lean-to greenhouse about 8 years ago . That has been augmented with three 6ft square cold-frames for strawberries and a 16 x 18 ft fruit cage and I'm looking to build another free-standing greenhouse as we can't move for plants in the existing one (same problem in the house but that's another story). I must say, I'm very impressed with 10mm twin-walled polycarbonate as a glazing material. It may not be as pretty as glass but in a gale we had a door come adrift that ended up about 100 yards away up against a hedge and it was fine.

Thanks for watching. An easy way is to find the center of the wall. Put up a temp board pointing to the sky centered at the mark you made. Make a mark at the height you want the roof peak. Get 2 boards as rafters and temp nail them up or use a clamp. Make a mark where they intersect from top to bottom. and the will be your angle. Copy angle on the other end of board for overhang. Save one board as a template to mark others.
