In this video I will build a strong foundation for my Lifetime Shed. It is an 8ft by 7.5 ft shed and I wanted a strong foundation instead of just using plywood. I will be using pressure treated 2x6x8 ft boards for this build. All materials and tools used will be added soon.

I thought screwing into the end grain isn't as strong as using a pocket hole. Did you notice any issues with your boards not staying fastened together?

They are still intact. I used good wood screws

Thank you for your video, and great job. Sorry for the dumb question, but did you have to wet and set the concrete, or did you leave it as gravel?

I just leveled out the gravels and left it like that for when I move or get rid of the storage it will not be a pain to just remove everything and do something else with the space in the yard

I used 8 ft 2x6 boards because I wanted it more sturdy than plywood because plywood gives and I’m a big dude. I wanted an 8x8 platform because my shed was 8x6 you can use those concrete blocks if you want but make sure your level on all sides by either digging or using some gravel. I used only 2 4x4 because I just wanted my 2 x6 frame off the ground. I could have used 4 4x4s but only needed 2

Use 2 1/2 inch construction screws , I would use the same for your frame, 2x6 frame but I would actually use plywood for your because it’s not a lot of sq ft with just a 6x5. Just brace it well with the frame with the boards 16 inches on center

No Ma’am. But put a little gravel down and level that out. A few bags shouldn’t cost you that much

Hi Brandi, I actually did not because the storage square footage takes up the whole thing

They are number 2 treated lumber so it will last a good while. As long as I’m going to need the shed. About 10 years

Is the advantage of this over plywood on top due to drainage?

I did this because I wanted it more sturdy when I walked into it and it feels like it’s on a concrete slab instead of that little bend you get in certain spots
