The Jetta will always be my Favorite 😍 It's not the fastest car in the movie or in reality but over all it was a really nice looking car. And I still think the mk3 gen is underrated for the VW cars.

I've always wanted to do a Civic replica. When I saw the movie for the first time that summer, and saw those civics! Let's just say I got goosebumps. Same with the eclipse. I remember in the theater when the eclipse was destroyed people going "nooo" women gasped, many with the the " oh wtf!" Watched it 3x that summer, got it the moment it came out on VHS since a DVD player was still out of my price range at the time 😆. I was 17 almost 18 and can honestly say the first movie changed my life.

Love most of the 2F2F Skyline reps, usually wrong kit & wheels, all they get right is the stripes (kinda)

Let’s be honest, some parts should stay in the past. I like the Throtl approach to building these cars. Modernize them! Keep the color and graphics but put your own spin on it from there.

Love the movies, and especially love the cars, I’ve even replicated them in GTA V, that way I can actually get to drive them all with my friends 😎

There was a channel on YT who bought an Eclipse from Tavarish and he swore up and down that we was going to build the closest tribute possible. Now that channel has no videos on it at all. Such a shame. Just shows how lofty these goals are.

I bought my AXIS se7en’s in 2001 for $1,800 with Pirelli tires. Never knew that only 500 sets were ever produced. I carried them around through about 3 moves (was in the military at the time), and donated them to the base autobody hobby shop in 2010. I’ve looked for these rims numerous times since and they are hard to find. I think they produced more of the Axis Se7en Mods then the original version. Sad to hear that Lenso and Axis haven’t continued to reproduce the rims.

Someone on Instagram made a rad replica of that car. It's my favorite in the entire franchise. It reminds me of my '71 Skylark I had in high school.

So I definitely have to say something about these cars. I tried building a replica movie car once it got very expensive for me really quick as it was a older car. But when it comes to the fast and furious cars. The only way to get them where I can afford them is find the model kit of the car or the hot wheels version or build the car in a video game. Like I have a very I think as close as I can get version of your orange Supra from the first movie and your sliver and blue skyline from the second movie. In the game I can all of the correct parts wheels and paint and even the underglow because of this I now have at lest 3 garage Full of cars yea that’s how much you inspire me

Besides the obvious orange supra and 2f2f silver/blue r34.. I'd love to have the yellow r33 from the first movie, the evo from Tokyo drift, I actually even love the green evo from 2 fast 2 furious

Here's a thought about replica vs tribute car. Lets say you want to build Suki's S2000 from 2fast. If you watched Doug Demuro's review you would find out it's "quirks and features" for example, the interior upholstery was basically but a basic bathroom mat roughly glued into place. Would you be going to bed bath and beyond or would you have it properly upholstered like it would be if the car was real? You would probably install the neon lights a bit neater than the movie and chances are you wouldnt mess with the rear view mirror since that was modified strictly for the purpose of camera angles.

I had the axis se7en 19s on my 99 civic si and sold the fully show car 5 years later with only 15k miles on it I so regret it !!!

With a disgusting amount of patience and time and money. Finding the discontinued parts is like finding a toothpick in a haystack

For wheels can’t you take them to a company that makes custom wheels and they recreate them for a high price tag? I don’t understand especially for cars in the first movie because of the demand they wouldn’t just recreate them.

Not sure if I'm in a minority group here, but these days I prefer the tribute builds like Throtls supra and eclipse. Paying homage to the originals but being very different and more modern take on them

Tributes make way more sense than a replica. You just can't feasibly do it.

You have destroyed the mold for the (supra) bumper right ? i just dont see why ? You can make money of it and people can finally get your hands on a replica bumper from the right person.
