Admire the skill to build. My husband is getting ready to do a pond dock. So many men do not enjoy learning how to do these things anymore. Hope our sons continue in the path.

Great video!!! I’ve been wanting todo this for father in laws pond which is about the same size. I installed a solar aerator so far to try and bring the pond to life just a lot of small newts and frogs tad poles but a dock like this would look great thanks for sharing

Great work! Planning on ripping out the old dock. Previous owner put a bunch of 2x4's into the ground and screwed to the base, what a disaster. This is so much better, especially with those 4x4 posts concreted in, its not going nowhere. I have a pool ladder I want to install, if I make it this way, and put the ladder at the edge, do you think it will sag over time from the front?

  • @schmitty750

I would just bolt the ladder to any part of your 2x6 or 2x8 framing. Could also buy a boat ladder and bolt it to the deck work. Thanks for watching!

I used a post hole digger and only got about 8" down in the clay. The 2 middle and 2 front posts are cemented in and about 4' deep so they hold it pretty solid. You can rent a gas powered water pump and jet them in though.

Such a pier and a lake need care. The bottom must be cleaned from bottom sediments and algae. It is better to do this with a motor pump for dirty water and a suction nozzle for a mini dredger Bagermaster
