Roadside stand Build Cut List / Pallet list
I already had this old trailer But I linked a similar one below. It's a 4x8 and the most convenient way would be to have a 4x8 pallet or 2 4x4 pallets for the bottom. I only had 40”x48” so I had to scab the center together to get to 96” or 8ft
I then took a 40x48” pallet and screwed to the front of the trailer. Screwed the second pallet 25” from the first to create some space for two 12” bundles.
The 3rd pallet was screwed into the to bottom to create the back
The 4th was screwed down at 16” from the back which created a 16” x 40” bin on the back and a 36” x 40 "bin in the center. I wanted the most weight over the tires for ease of hauling and for easy lifting off my atv or truck due to hoping it will be a balanced load more over the tires.
Then we screwed a 2x10 across what will be the the front or road side of the firewood stand and a 2x4 across the back of the stand as the roof framing
We used some steel roofing I had left over from a previous project for the roof and cut those at 65”. We overhung the back of the stand by 4” and had a larger overhang in the front of the stand.

Join me as I continue to build inventory for the next heating season here at Central Minnesota Firewood. Can I start and grow a business with $300? Will it work? Find out with me as I document my days through the upcoming weeks as I try to put together a network in the firewood sales market in my area.

It'll look wonky but you can paint it black: cheap pool noodles for the edge of the metal roofing. Keep cuttin' Eli!

@travisdoesfirewood that's a pretty good idea, better than what I had come up with

Good morning Eli Looks GOOD Yes on anything that we put a lock on stuff...it will only keep out the convenience thief !! Wondering if the rear of the trailer may need blocking...thinking maybe if all the bundles are sold and the rest of the compartments still full it might be tipsy !! Maybe the back edge of roof ...you could put a 2×4 ....3 inches longer than the roof with kinda rounded end corners ! Placed on the bottom side with a half inch overhang at bottom...screwed on from the top of the tin !!😊

@@kendriedger151 I used a small strip of alder to edge the steel. I had the same thought on the tipping back of the trailer. I'll have to see if that becomes anything to look out for

Any chance that'll upend if all the bundles go? W the stack at rear looks like it may be rear heavy

How have your sales been? My area is so saturated with roadside stands and people selling firewood, idk if I'll ever put a stand together.

@RyanWI715 I'm averaging about 1 bundle per day. No racks sold yet. There is one more stand down the road from me but with the lames here there is always new people in the area.
