Well played, those pickups sound great

I know this might be a hard question to really answer because the neck and body materials will change how the guitar sounds but what resistance did you find to produce the sweetest sound. I have a voo doo Strat and fender made those pickups oddly enough 5.61 k ohms straight across. I think I want to go lower in resistance. Any Who thanks for posting.

Good question. There are so many variables. I think originally all pickups were made the same? I found 5-6k is the area to aim for but it varies on type of wire and scatter, magnets etc. I’m working on some underwound, alnico 2 strat pickups that I might partially pot. So will see how they go

@@theGuitarHutch I will keep my eyes open.( I will follow you ) I think I like the sound of alnico 2 magnets better then 5s also I have found underwinding produces more tone for sure. We could always kick it up with an Booster. Years ago I use to look at some great sounding pickups and the one thing I notice was that none of them were wax potted. They had that much desirable edge to them. Just to my hearing. Thanks for the come back Kyle c];-)

@@ALtheDoctorWho sure. Thanks. I’m all for experimenting with Magnet types and winds etc. Unfortunately, getting things like heavy formvar wire is pretty expensive here. So I’ll have to still with plain enamel.

I want to buy 3 for strat, but I dont know the price? Alnico 3 or 5 AND bee wax

Pretty hilarious this comment. Showing the parts and build of the winder in the first 1 minute…. Then the actual pickup in the next 1-2 minutes… under 3 minutes from start to finish and captions. Sorry if it wasn’t done in 30 seconds for you 😏
