    I really like the simplicity of your work , as someone who worked in London for four years, i got to see how you guys are doing things , when i say , "you guys", i mean westerners :) . I'm from Romania ,that's why i'm saying this, we have a bit of a different thing going on , as in small prices , a lack of proper timber and time clients like to wait . That being said , i'm attempting in opening a new shop right now ,back home in Bucharest, in witch i want to make things ,the western way. :)) I've learned a ton of things being in London , In Romania the pride of being a carpenter (we call carpenter anyone that works with wood) has been lost, and i got mine back by experiencing what is like in UK. I probably would've loved it more if i would've worked in America, since i've grew up with american culture , i speak english in an american way and i'm sure i would've loved the weather , witch i can't say the same about UK . But without telling everyone my life story :) , i love the way you make things , i've done a ton of awesome work myself, so from a carpenter to another , respect brother ! Shout out from Romania and much love.

I designed and made some thinks in the last months on my own. But this desk ist so awsome that i had to rebuild it. Now it is nearly finished so i thought this ist the right time to say thank you! Greetings from Germany Btw. I discovered that Black walnut is a great wood for the handplane. I treated the legs with it befor glueup and there is no need for sanding afterwards. Much faster, alot more fun and a smoother finish then 240grid. So, thanks again!

    D for desk. 😊 In reality, I’m actually not even a baseball fan. I bought the cubs hat just because I liked the style and I wanted a simple “C” hat. I got this one for my wife... but she never wears it so I stole it. 😊

    I would price it by simply doing a cost of materials, plus your labor rate. You just have to decide on a labor rate and be realistic about the amount of time it takes to produce.

    Do angled legs make pieces less stable?

  • @Foureyes.Furniture

    @Foureyes.Furniture

    5 жыл бұрын

    Not less stable. In theory they could make it more stable (if they give it a wider stance)... they would, probably, decrease the amount of weight you could set on top. So you might not do this for a workbench or something. But for a desk, or a dining table... no problem if don’t correctly.

    I don't have a standard, I'll just kind of use anything if it's already laying around...but in an ideal world I'll probably use a pieces about 1/8" too wide in total.
