How to Build a Creative Triaging Solution in Jira

Ғылым және технология

This video will show how to create a streamlined bug triaging process using Jira Software. Many growing organizations are using internal processes that are not able to support their own success, impacting customer experience, revenue, ability to scale, and competitive advantage. This process allows your bug and development support team to take bugs and suggestions from users and send them to proper teams in your organization. This solution helps address customer ideas and bugs in the most efficient and streamlined way possible.
As an Agile Project Management application, Atlassian's Jira software helps businesses organize and streamline their projects. Triaging an issue essentially means giving some priorities to the items and sorting the list. Jira Triage involves determining how important this issue is, whether it is an urgent matter, then put this issue on a list, based on its importance. It involves different perspectives based on issue type, priority, and the workload of the team members.

Thanks for this brilliant demo, this concept is well thought out and practical. I am currently building a very similar triaging workflow with JMWE and have the steps for auto creating a linked issue all working, the part I am still struggling with is the prompt for notes/relevant team/issue type. Hopefully I can figure out how to do this with JMWE. If you have any advice on this particular step, I would really appreciate it! Thanks again and keep up the fantastic work!

Hey Tom! Glad to hear that this helped! Building these processes can be difficult, but they are definitely worth it! If I understand your question correctly, the first step is setting up the relevant fields that you want present to the user during the transition. Then you create a screen with those fields and add it to the same transition in the workflow where you are creating a linked issue. Then, you can configure JMWE to run different post functions based on the user's selection of those fields. Here's the app's documentation page - innovalog.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JMWEC/pages/108200243/Conditional+execution Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and reaching out!

@@joshkochelek9691 thank you for the reply! I was stuck on the step for custom fields in the transition screen, I missed that detail in your video at first. However I was able to figure it out and we now have a super awesome triaging tool in action! I’m stoked. Thanks for the inspiration! Keep it up mate 👍
