The u channel is the hardest part yet you didn't even glance over it lol. I've had to reinstall and clip mine several times.

This is helpful, but like many other comments I was also hoping to see tips about installing the U-channel. I take my fabric off every year and pack it away to keep mice from getting at it. I have owned 2 clam flip shelters. Soaking the channel in hot water never worked because it hardens again while installing. The best way I have found is to use a heat gun to soften it during install. Mostly this is needed on the corners. The straight parts usually don’t need softening. Also, if you take it off every year like me it helps to mark the location. Once you get the fabric and channel installed where you want it, trace the channel right on the fabric with a sharpie. That way you know each time the fabric is reinstalled that it’s in the right place.

Sure am glad you put this Video on KZread! U Channel was a ----, even when heated in hot water! Need to come up with a better U Channel install!

Trying to install a new tent on a Guide I agree with all the other comments: Why didn't you cover proper U-Channel installation? The rest of it is easy. Getting the U-Channel right is a major pain.

Agreed I wish you guys showed the u channel part of the installation. Was able to get it on but not sure if I should be cutting off the excess material or just leave it. In slushy conditions I would think excess material would cause ice build up so thinking to cut excess off. Agreed?

No don't Cut the extra materials. Just that much more chance of it coming apart

Lol even Clam themselves can't work out how to do the u-channel. I am gonna use clamps too.
