I ice fish but i do not have a flip over but i absolutely love how well this and your other videos are done. Practical, down to earth explanations. I wish all manufacturers of DIY assemblies were so clear.

Very nice suits! I started out using the clam edge x suit. Love that parka! My only complaint was it was too warm! Lol seriously! Bibs were tight in a medium so i went to a large. I just sold that suit and now im using the defender. Much more durable overall although i never had durability issues with the edge x. I just bought the clam vertex gloves aswell. E-vent is a nice technology! Its been used in hiking gear for some time now so i know what to expect. Primaloft insulation is amazing! Holds its warmth even when wet. I wouldn't mind seeing some lightweight goose down versions by clam in the future. A little down goes along way too so it would be lighter and warmer. Would just need to reinforce high pressure areas like the knees and elbows. Thank you clam for all you do for the ice fishing community! Fish on!🐟🎣

Did you buy the half hoops separately, or did you just cut the hoop and turn it into two?

I purchsed this exact suit top and bottoms. The parka is super warm! Almost too warm but X stands for Xtreme. Something to keep in mind. I bought mediums. Jacket fit great but bibs were too tight. Not alot of room in the gut and too tight in the crotch area. Unfortunately size large bibs are sold out everywhere. Ughh so now i have brand new bibs i cant use. I was hesitant to order something i havent tried on and my worries were justified. Regardless its a very nice set. Well thought out and extremely warm. Fish on!!

Great tutorial, Mike. When I first looked at the directions for Model 16611 (basically the same Clam) … I figured I was in for more than it looked like on the surface… Your video cleared all that up in a chinch. The devil’s always in the details!

You can get your inner layers so much cheaper than the targeted brands by these companies. However. The outers are more important. Like float bibs and jackets. Be mindful folks. Read labels and compare.

I wish there was like a x-1000 something right in between the 800 and 1200. 800 is about too small for a group of 4 for over night and the 1200 is way too big.

I was disappointed in this demonstration. I could not see the line. They should have used something bright colored like a braid to make it easy to see. Also the two triggers were kind of confusing. Overall it looks and sounds like a great idea. Watching this on my 6.4 inch HD screen phone I had a hard time seeing what was actually being displayed. That is my only problem. I really do like clam products, it was the demonstration that was the problem for me.

Glad to see your going in the right direction educating the public. You need a fishing personality like the way Tony Dean handled his fishing show. A person who has environmental and fisheries background with a personality and can be trusted.

Since comments on other sites say a five gallon bucket won’t fit anywhere in the tub... can you offset the seat rails to one side. Understand additional holes would need to be drilled

Here’s a thought though - what about wind? How is this going to sustain through 35 to 40 mph winds, or more? Over the years, I’ve sat through many blizzards on the ice but not in a canvas style shack. Will it survive? Anybody? What do you think?

Wish Clam would do removable windows or install stove vents in the roof like some of the other manufacturers are doing. Now I'm cutting holes in my hub shack to run a stove vent pipe.

I like it! I like it a lot! There is no such thing as too much room. Can never have enough room. I’m thinking of getting this just for myself… supplies and sleep on one side… fish on the other side. It would be much easier for one person than a permanent house (wheel house) and this has portability. Tow another sled along with more supplies; pull two sleds.

I really liked the design and I decided to try making my own with some silk thread and soft beads! I definitely want to pick up a few of the Clam ones to test both, but WOW the action on even the homemade ones are stellar! Just the tension the trailer ads to reduce the twist back and forth I get on my fluoro or mono line is enough to make using these worth it. Thank you for the awesome tips! Tight Lines :)
