Yes sir! Glad I subscribed tonight. My older son is still mad that I didn't buy him an SC project that was for sale near us. Aspens aren't too common around here, and that one was in pieces, but obviously super rare.

Dusters, darts, scamps, demons, valients, and aspens are the last good deals out there. I’ve got a 68 dart gt motor home 440 used duel quad tunnel ram 727 and 8 3/4 suregrip used fenderwell headers and a lot of old speed parts that no one uses got left behind the times. It is super fast deep in the 11s knocking on the 10s gets 14 mph and you can drive it everyday tons of tourque. I’ve had it for 8 years and have $5000 in it.

I havent seen an aspen / volare 2 door on the road in at least ten years. I see b body mopars at least once a month. Me and my buddy nate are putting together a 78 aspen rt we picked up for a few hundred bucks. Orig a 318 car but had a frose up 360 under the hood. Going super cheap rebuild on the 360 but in the meantime im going to stuff a very reluable and complete 318 from a truck i used to have. We are building the 360 with parts from around my shop.

Volare/Aspen is the best kept secret of the '70's Mopar restomod candidates. If you can find a southern car with minimal rust.

Great video ! I remember these cars back in the day growing up my parents owned a 1976 Dodge Aspen sedan with a slant six . I do miss that car it got around everywhere . We ended up getting a 1984 Pontiac Parisienne wagon which was another good car .

It’s true. I’ve had my 18 HellCat and my 77 Volare wagon at the same car show. No one gave a shit about the charger. It was all about the wagon.

The slant 6 is a great engine if it is still working, the 360 is a nice choice

Mopar Action magazine was excellent for tips on how to build Mopars for cheap with OEM parts--I landed a ton of magazines free from a Patriot's Stadium show on Thursday nights, hope to see this car there sometime. If you don't like Dakotas, you're SOL if you want a V8 RWD that isn't rusted into swiss cheese--its this or J bodies that might have the 400. As long as you recognize the darn passenger leftie lug threads :) Some Jeep rims will fit, there were cop car versions of these cars for suspension upgrades, i agree the 360 over 318--some love the stroke to con rod ratio of the 318, but i'm a torque guy. the sad problem is Mopar was going out of business in this decade, so sometimes quality control is an added expense to get one of these cars back on the road reliably. 904's are great since they absorb less power, i think the 999 has a large ratio gear gap, not good if your cam choice is peaky. Advanced Auto did surprise me on radiators as well--but they got me on the trans cooler. AA goes thru employees like crazy, and sometimes a returned part ends up back on the shelf--if you return something, mark it NFG or something else, I bought a trans cooler off the shelf from them and as soon as I tightened up a hose the fitting broke. had to dissassemble it all and returned it and the new one everything was plastic sealed--hmm, wasn't like that on the first one I bought. ding ding ding.

The leaning tower of power huh, my buddy has one in a 4 speed Volare. He loves it! I had a 76 Dart sport with a V8/4 speed. I installed a really cool shifter, a Hurst V Gate (inline). It fit perfect in trans tunnel...I think same would apply to Volare. I recommend it...makes the driving experience that much more fun!

I would consider that a cheap Mopar that was one of the best in the top selling cars of each time. If you ask me radio tuner suspension, which meeting in which comfortable ride you too, I would call that looks like slop and Mopar and bass reviews. don’t know what a real car is, take a few of us to get all the amateurs out here and show ya. Please don’t take this the wrong way I happen to love that car believe me got one of the most cars for lunch and have a nice day.

These cars were recalled in 76 and 77 for there rust issues. They tryed some new rust preventative ideas that didn't work. The outer sheetmetal was rotting out in the Midwest cars within a year. Cost Chrysler lots and lots of money replacing fenders. The rust issues wernt fixed until mid year 77 when they switched metal suppliers and took a different route to prevent rust. I personally would never invest in a 76 model unless it was for parts. The metal content is just that bad and were I live the humidity changes so much it would kill the car even if it was a desert car. The other issue beyond the rust problems is the 76-77 model takes a hump gas tank that nobody makes. 78-80 you can buy new gas tanks for very easily

I have a special place in my heart for 79 Volarie Duster. Got my first kiss in the backseat of a nice brown one my friend owned from a nice girl that let it go no further than a really sweet kiss.

The advantage of the magium is it's a roller cam engine and you can reuse the lifter's doing a cam swap and has a better flowing heads steel crank steel rods hypertecic pistons and a compressor ratio of 9.1 vs 8.5 or 8.2 for the la so personally I lean magium but I like the la too but it comes down to buget and what mods you plan on doing 👍
