That 318 went from mid to SPICY. Love to see Luke back. Y'all's chemistry is great.
You're genuinely an inspiration to me. I'm only 22 and have a very supportive family, they've helped me have my own little workshop where I work on cars of myself and friends, I've learned so many things about old vehicles, what to be weary of and how to work on them from you. Finding your channel was the best thing that has ever happened to me. You've inspired me to restore and love old cars. Thank you Kevin!

And we are lucky to have young ppl like yourself who want to care for classic cars of all kinds, fixing, replacing painting & customizing - it reminds we old guys of how great things were in the 1970s when we were young 🙂
I love you and Luke working together. So much knowledge and experience doing this oind of stuff. The technical know how is a large part of why i love your channel, as well as his. And Mook.. she is just a bundle of fun, and i love her quips and digs, it's also satisfying to see a woman getting down and dirty and making it work. Much love to you, thunderhead, dylan mccool, golden rust, the Junkyard Mook and Pole barn garage. He kills me, and gets it done on a budget that even I could afford. Cheers to you and yours in allmfuture endeavors.

THIS, my friends, is one of only channels, where I'm happy to see sponsorships. It is incredibly cool and nice to see and realise that such a content and man getting stuff and money for things he loves so much. As well as me and everyone else on this channel. Kevin, you're a sweetheart. Keep doing and enjoying stuff you like
Now that you and Luke are near each other again. I think it's time for another weekend revival camping trip.
I came to the channel when Luke was more around all the time. I am completely stoked he will be back!
Wow, that motor teardown was so cool to watch! I've been waiting to see something like that on this channel for quite a while, and now that you have a shop instead of a gravel driveway it seems like a much easier place to do it. Thanks for sharing that process with us!
I had a very good friend a couple years ago that bought a 71 satellite Sebring Plus when he was fifteen, and he built that car. Built 440, fully built suspension, it was beautiful. He said, one summer, he went through four sets of tires on the rear. Too much fun. He sold it. But I got to ride in it multiple times. Those are beautiful cars
The look on Dalton's face when he starts pumping up the football....😂 2:55
Excellent video taking the time to give tips and explaining etc.. Awesome to see Luke … and PBG! Only one missing was McCool😆 Sounds Badass! God Bless 😎
Pretty cool to see Luke back, your previous colab's made the best viewing. Keen to see some more :)
Hey Kevin…..as a rule of thumb while you have that engine out of the chassis now would be an excellent time to replace ALL of the freeze plugs. Even back when those Mopars were just a few years old they would eat up freeze plugs!

@@JunkyardDigs New plugs cost barely more than the epoxy and it would have been an excellent chance to clean out the inside of the water jacket. Would not be surprised if that block came from the factory with casting sand still in it, plus whatever mouse nest and rust was added later.
Football dent Removal Was just genius Dalton and Kevin @Junkyard Digs @Pole Barn Garage
Camshaft install tip I was taught: Get a long piece of all-thread the same pitch as the cam sprocket bolt and use it like an extension to put the cam in, then just unscrew it.
@JunkyardDigs

Thats a good one! Another trick is to out the cam sproket on and use it like a handle, unlike I did 😂
New episode! And a great new project. This one actually looks so restorable. I wonder if he tried that weird glue stick method, although with that kind of rigidity I doubt it would work that well. Leave those footballs inside and you get sort of an airbag. And even if that football popped, you get a cool hat or you can make shoes out of them ha ha.
Am glad to see Kevin and Luke together again please do some work together
great job on fixing up the Satellite!!! I always loved the "fuselage" styling of the 1971 models from Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge. Richard Petty used that body style I believe for two racing seasons. My Dad's Duster was the same color. I miss my Dad, spend as much time as you can with your Father.
Awesome seeing Our buddy Luke hanging out for a bit! I totally look forward to seeing you guys collab again! Dalton and JD are really fun to watch as well!
Almost coordinated between the Monte Carlo over on PBG and this one. The JunkyardDigs Cinematic Universe is now claiming PBG in it lol
You have more self-control than I do. If I had gone so far as to have pulled that engine I couldn't have put it back without doing the rings ... bearings and gone through the valves. My OCDC would be killing me.
Kevin, you are the go-to-guru when it comes to engine bay gymnastics, I absolutely love your super chill, calm and logical explanations of what we the audience is watching, again, I would watch your videos even if all you were doing was rebuilding brakes over and again. I have to ask though, with all of the crap that was coming out of the radiator, why not just go and pull it out and have it rodded and cleaned , especially with the engine already out? It could have only helped your cause, and, well it doesn't cost THAT much. Great video as always, and I can't wait for the next one!
as much as I love seeing your father on the channel and him telling stories or giving advice to you or Mook on how to do something related to bodywork ... Dalton's way of doing things puts a smile on my face, just as much lol ... never heard of his channel until he was on JYD a few videos back, but now i am a regular viewer of his content

I saw the video when you pick this car up and boy it came a long way. You and Dalton make a great comedy team. I buy quite a few parts from summit racing including a double timing set for a 360 I put in a 97 Dodge last Summer. Still running great. Keep up the great work Kevin 👍✌️🇺🇲
I am so happy he is back. Can't wait for the collaborations
It is Cool to see you all Together!
The clear paint is a good trick to help prevent all of the spotting you inevitably get with aluminum. I went ahead and painted mine the block color. Mimics a cast intake pretty well but I like the look of orange over the aluminum color. Like you said the trick is to just never have gas dripping down on the paint.
Oven cleaner works great! Used to use it on tractors before getting them ready to paint and it's cheaper!

great ad tie-in for the Shady Rays - smooth and actually watchable. good job man
Thunderhead and Pole Barn visiting 😊 This is good stuff. More of this please
As insnalely cool and exciting it is and would be for the original owner to get this car back, I weirdly feel like it would be so cool if he told Kevin to keep it and Kevin ended up dailying this thing. Also btw with winter tires these cars handle surprisingly well in winter. 😂😅 don't ask how I know.
The budget 318 rebuild takes me back to high school in the late 90s...I did one and so did a buddy. Those little motors were everywhere back then. Good stuff!

Would this be the mysterious red/orange the General Lee is painted? Keep up the good work! Also, just for shits and giggles, I put a Ford V-10 on my HF engine stand with the hardware it come with, it held up, although I kept a chain hooked to the front with minimal slack and it hooked to the engine hoist. I will be changing the hardware now after your suggestion.

Awesome, these videos have me mesmerized! In the previous video I was wondering why you didn't work on the block first (the peripheral items are not likely to be show stoppers), but this video provided all the answers. I guess the secret is having a lot of experience with rebuilds/restorations which lets you size up the potential gotchas of a project like this. From the big coolant puddle in the previous video I speculated a broken water jacket, but fortunately not. A leaking freeze plug on a 318, imagine that! The color and luster brought to the surface by buffing and polishing is just astounding. Love that throaty engine roar near the end of the video - what a sweet sound! As a former 72 Challenger owner these videos really tug on my heart strings.
Dalton is like me, knowledgeable but makes bad decisions :)

Love seeing Dalton ON the channel @Junkyard Digs @Pole Barn Garage
It is alive!!! You are like a surgeon doing a triple bypass on a heart and bam 💥, good as new. Like you said Mr. Kevin she’s pretty rust free for being an Iowa car her whole life. If that car was from NJ it would be a rusted out shitbox with all the salt we dump on the streets for snow. That’s the reason for a lot of cars demise here and it’s a shame. Can’t wait to see you on the road trip back to your hometown and the rest of the story that goes with it!!! 👍🏻😁
My experience is with leaky valves with old engines that has been sitting for a while is most of the time of rusty valve seats. Which you can get ride off quite quickly by giving the valves a bit more valve clearance, and after it has run for 20 min you can go back to stock clearance or what is advised for the type of cam. Nice to see you guys having a lot of fun together!
The good old " Craigslist rebuild " awesome!
Awesome using Pertronix! I used them for a drop in igniter ignition on a old amc v8 in 1995. Last year the inductor ring broke and I emailed them for a price on a replacement. They emailed me back and asked if I still lived at the same address that I sent my warranty card from all those years ago. I said yes and they literally set me a new inductor ring via priority mail for friggen FREE!! Damn near 30 years after the sale!!
Awesome to get Luke back in. Loved that video of you and Luke reviving that stuck in the mud MOPAR. That was hilarious!
Well that was much smoother than the other Mopar adventure! Looks great and good to see Luke back in the area.

Love you’re videos. I’ve been slowly upgrading our 7x14 enclosed motorcycle trailer and the one thing I added that we enjoy the most is a Dometic awning. That one thing added so much more comfort when outside cooking and lounging.

The oil pressure is fine. My 318 idles that low aswell. Mopar says the 318 can safely idle as low as 6 psi and the oil sensor is adjusted to have the dash light come on at 4 psi.
Damn Kevin, Luke, and Dalton Awesome to see!!
awesome guys! fun seeing this car come back to life and great seeing you and Luke hangin!
Hey Kevin, I would like you to try a tip my father taught me from restoring antique tractors. Use oven cleaner for your engine degreaser before pressure washing. I usually buy a case for $12 at the dollar store. Just don’t put on anything plastic. I think you may be impressed. Great channel!
