I would really like to put the port injection on the 22, since it’s still under warranty and DI. I am concerned that Ford Pass would pick it up and cancel my warranty. I wish they would retrofit it so it would be like the truck longitudinal. The transverse Edge needs all the help you can give it. It’s tight in there. The Start/Stop is really stupid and I wish I could could turn it off permanently, I am blind and I remind my wife to turn it off, hoping that keeping oil circulation will minimize coking up. The last thing you need is to keep shutting the oil circulation off every time you stop., Iwish it was like a diesel with a run on timer to keep it running until the temp is stable enough to shut it off.

Love the video but the best first mod for stock or tuned and anything above is a nice catch can. Doesn’t add performance but definitely adds safety for the engine. Definitely more important than an intake with stock or tuned and a necessity for any other upgrades. Don’t forget the health and longevity of these engines boys!

K&N and Injen might be the biggest names in the industry, but in my opinion they don't produce the best products. With that being said, their advertised power gains are always bs too. This is really going to depend on what tune you are running. Intake, downpipes, etc. aren't going to have too much of an impact on gas mileage but if you run an aggressive tune 100% of the time then I'd assume you might lose 2-4mpg depending on how you drive and accelerate off the line. But you can adjust tunes depending on what you're doing - keep it on an economy/mpg tune for daily driving, put on the performance tune when you're towing, want more power, etc.

It'd be a second gen due to your predecessor: 2015-2018 Ford Edge Sport which had the 2.7 AND the Ford Fusion Sport that had the 2.7EB as well. I had a good time with my 2018 Edge with supporting mods BUT not a lot of support behind that platform besides the F150 and the Fusion. Unleashed Tuning is a good start on their site. FMIC, Colder Spark Plugs, Colder Thermostat, Tune, and Rear Motor Mount along with a drop in filter and rear muffler delete had me around give or take near 400HP. I miss my edge sport. :/

Also, I believe Steeda, AFE makes a open element CAI system for the Edge ST. Like I said, Unleashed Tuning did my 2018 Ford Edge Sport with tune and sent me my parts. Just remember: Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance. Do your maintenance slightly ahead of time to avoid some hiccups. One last thing, I had a JLT 3.0 Oil Separator as well since 45k miles, was done with it at around 110k miles and wasn't disappointed. Happy shopping. 👊🤙

What kind of tune is available that won’t violate the warranty, using Phillips 66 Pump Premium. I don’t want to be on the ragged edge but 350 hp 400 ft lbs would be just enough, the 2022 ST Edge is a good sporty vehicle. It weighs about what a 60s- 70s midsize does, handles amazingly and with 350 hp 400 ft lbs is like a small block Malibu. Amazing for such a small and durable engine. The rpm range is great too , 2200-5500 with a rising boost curve. The engine and transmission are great. The engine is really good. It is a 2nd generation engine? Trying to find details are really vague on the FWD/ AWD, ours is transverse AWD, and I thought it was 2nd generation but the information leads me to believe that the transverse cars kept the 1st generation. Can you tell me for sure? Thanks a lot

It's always hard to give exact numbers since there are so many factors like conditions, dyno, engine/turbo health, tuning, etc. However - as a rough ballpark - a full bolt-on 2015 2.7L EcoBoost will likely make about 360-380whp and 400-430wtq on standard 91/93 octane pump fuels. If you run a small E85 blend (like E30) then you'll likely land somewhere around 380-410whp and 425-450wtq.

Thank you for the comment! You're right - I was getting the 2nd gen 3.5 and 2.7 EcoBoost confused. The 2.7L engine did switch to EWG but for whatever reason the change didn't happen immediately on the 2nd gen engine. I believe it was 2021 F-150 models that moved to EWG and I know the Bronco 2.7 EcoBoost is EWG.

The intake does not need to be upgraded. The 3.5 ecoboost make 450 hp and use the same filter as the 2.7. 6:15 if you are not upgrading turbos. The down pipe does not need to be changed. The stock cats are not restricting hp.

  • @8020Media

Do either of them NEED to be upgraded? No, they can support basic tunes and bolt-ons, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a performance benefit to upgrading them. Improved airflow (both intake and exhaust) improves turbo efficiency so you will see power gains from upgrading them + get a more freely spinning turbo so faster spool and less lag. We would at least run an intake with a tune to feed the turbo some additional air and reduce the amount of stress put on it.

Yes changing the Dps are a game changer, in my SHO, you get faster spool and gain 20awhp. And he is correct on the intake. Factory is designed for factor numbers, when pushing twice the HP than stock you need the air. And charge pipes are a must, sometimes just a tune can crack OEM charge pipes.

Same Gary. I've been trying to look for parts for my Lincoln MKX but it's even harder than the Edge ST. All I found was an aftermarket BOV and a tune from livernois, and I'm pretty much capped. I did find something on the edge forums and someone complied a complete list of mods like intercooler, springs, upgraded thermostats, etc. But it's too close because it is a list for 1st gen and 2nd gen 2.7

@@garys9718Old thread, please stay away from Livernois. You have options, Gearhead, Stage 3, Ortiz. I'm in the SHO community, Livernois is not used by anyone but newbies. I mentioned to another guy on here, your 2.7 is like my 3.5 was in my SHO, the internals are cheap. The 2.7 transverse failure will start at under 400whp and 450wtq. Only way to get alot of power is to have the engine built. Average is 10-$14,000 to do a good build on a engine. The F-150 2.7 internals can handle the power.
