    Your set up is the best sounding exhaust on a 2.7EB That I've heard, It sounds similar to an Infiniti G35/37. All of the other exhaust systems for the 2.7 sound like hammered dog crap; The 2.7 is a an engine with a Terrible exhaust note to begin with. In this case your hard work paid off, well done!

    I didn't make mention of it the other day but my main concern about the placement of the loop is that it seems like it would have to put more heat on the control module on the side of the transmission. It does sound fantastic, pretty much just like the trombone 3.5s. That is why I want to do it when I can.

    @BoostKingMatt Ya that is in my plans too. I actually considered that before the turbos but the fact that my turbos are surely nearing thier end with the high miles, if I am going to the change, might as well do it right. Its insane hot here, going to hit 104-105 this week and thats without heat index. Sitting in traffic, long periods of idling I have seen charge air temps reach 180s. No intercooler can overcome that. Water meth would help that but if I did do it I would not be running it continuously, I would have it set up to kick in at a certain boost. I drive alot as you know, that would probably get costly using at all times. In a case such as your truck, makes perfect sense especially on track days. Some people don't understand how differently heat effects a turbo vehicle vs naturally aspirated. A naturally aspirated vehicle sucks already hot air through a short tube rapidly, if the tube and intake is super hot, the charge air doesn't have nearly as much time to be heated up even more. Our trucks have probably 10 or 12 feet of tubing under the hood and that tubing is hot, plus traveling through hot turbos. That is astronomically more time for the air to be heated up before it goes into the combustion chamber. The only way to combat that is either a complete, long cool down before making a pass or a long drive keeping continuous air flowing through the tubing keeping the tubing from becoming so hot. Neither is feasible and one is impossible on track day. Water meth is basically the only solution for our trucks.

    @@lil2.74 yeah. I will run it like you’re saying, having it kick in at a certain boost level. But not tune for it (in other words, increase timing, I would want to leave timing normal that way if it fails, the engine doesn’t grenade)

    @@BoostKingMatt this makes no sense. If you bought a Coyote, and put the same amount of money in it, it would blow the 2.7 away… I agree it’s a good engine, but you don’t buy it strictly for performance; there are better options.

  • @BoostKingMatt

    @BoostKingMatt

    4 ай бұрын

    @MistrZIGZAG I do not agree. 4000$ on turbos and a few other mods that yields 500 wheel horsepower would not do the same on a 5.0. You need a supercharger to make 500+ wheel. That’s about 10k. Plus, if I wanted a coyote I would have bought one. I didn’t want one. I like my twin turbo v6. Per liter, it makes more horsepower than a stock coyote engine could make per liter without blowing up.

  • @MistrZIGZAG

    @MistrZIGZAG

    @@BoostKingMatt here’s a forum post disproving your theory. “So my local speed shop has agreed to sponsor a single turbo build. He says it would be the only one in Florida or the states (which I seem hard to believe). I always thought that you install superchargers on domestics and turbos on imports. Well after doing some researching, my latter statement is as cliché as they come. From what others are telling me, Turbos are cleaner, safer, and able to provide much more power. The shop thinks a turbo setup on a 2011 5.0 would produce as much as 800hp. Whether that is single or dual setup I don't know, because I didn't give their statements much validity after the ridiculous 800 number. However, after reading more on Mustangs and Turbos, I think the number may be obtainable (in some way). The shop said my out of pocket expense would be less than $4000 out the door. This would include turbo, intercooler, headers, full exhaust, and labor. They think the best spot for the single turbo would be where the cool air induction is.”

    While pie cuts would look smoother, it takes 10x longer to do. The pinch in the middle there is because I had to cut it and move it a second time. I would like to have a set of stock downpipes to make a jig and get it just right, but Matt is 12 hours south of me and this was all done from measurements over the internet.
