A hint for anyone who wants it: brush twice per day. Brushing well before bed will assist in removing allergens, pollen and dust collected during the day, and for those with allergies and asthma, it will be helpful. Hair is porous and will trap these materials. They will cover the pillow and the face will be buried in all of that.

Great to come across your videos! Am growing my hair back out after 12 years of it being mostly short. Past my shoulders right now, but with some layering.Have you considered switching to, or just including, a boar bristle brush in your routine? It will do a much finer job at pulling the oils down. Also, wood peg brush for the detangling? No need for plastic brushes and you'll be even happier with the results.

when wet hair is conditioned and rinsed , I find it easier to divide my hair in the back carefully, pull sides to front and with a wide tooth comb , from bottom up comb until a snag appears , comb it out gently then continue . Grasp both sides in the back of neck comb bottom ,then from crown down over both shoulders . 3" + and flowing as a " Long Haired ROCK - N ROLL DAWG " !!!

i have to cut my 4 year old hair because i gave promise to some people including me and it is now very damaged. the problem is i saw your channel just a day ago plus i wanna try some hobbit hairstyles... so to the other longhairs dont do what i did: i always brushed my hair while wet, always broken damaged it, did some shitty stuff with my sisters tools (broken the tools also), didnt wash enough or with right shampos... in the first years i divided it two sides and now my head has an empty line in the middle even though i am doing ponytail for the last 2 year... definitly take good care of your hair and try different styles all the time! i will start growing after i cut the bad hair ;) hope this helps.

Growing my hair, in my situation is the most annoying and pain in the ass thing i ever tried to do. I work as maintenance in a private school where there's an olympic sized pool and the ventilation system is shit. So as soon as i'm in the building i'm starting to sweat a lot. Not washing my hair makes my scalp very itchy and i developp some ''irritation and pimples. So i have to wash my hair almost everyday to det rid of the sweat. I hope i'll be able to move to another place soon.

+Free Will That's easy to answer. You'll need to try a bantu style braid after you get out the shower or before bed. Silk night cap goes over the section hair that is coiled in twists. Hair that is coiled together reduces frizz, naturally. Finger combing and using your fingers to coil hair is a better strategy. You can find various ways of increase the volume of naturally curly hair. Maintaining moisture in curly hair is vitally important for the health of it, because brushing isn't as viable of an option for distributing sebum.

Congratulations on this channel! Found out today and have been viewing everything! I have been growing my hair for more than a year now (right in the awkward stage) and one of the many things that piss me off is that i get dandruff if I don't wash it daily. The worst part is I know I'm not supposed to wash it daily! But dandruff is disgusting... like, 3 days without washing already gives me dandruff for a f'ing month. It's not oily rather the opposite actually - just a bunch of dry tiny annoying white spots over my shoulders. Is there any way I can solve this problem while simultaneously growing my hair the right way? thanks a lot and keep it up

+To da Mouth G Dandruff as I understand it happens due to a disturbance on the scalp. Specifically, your scalp and skin naturally prefer an acidic environment. You will need to heal your scalp probably from the poor shampoos you are using causing a more alkaline environment on your scalp. Sebum is naturally acidic and it may take time for your scalp to return to homeostasis.

In one of your older videos (How to Blow Dry Your Hair), you said to carefully brush your wet hair before blow drying it. In this video you said to NEVER brush wet hair. Which one is correct now?

  • @AndrooUK

    @AndrooUK

    6 жыл бұрын

asgart16 Like healthy eating advice, haircare advice changes depending on the mood or buzz of the week. Hair is not alive (apart from the root), so it doesn't care if it's wet or dry when brushed. As long as you're gentle when brushing it at any time, it doesn't matter. Maybe there's something to spreading of natural oils, but the hair is just keratin, so it's not a big deal. The most important thing for hair health is at the source: how much is it nourished when growing? You can't change the hair's content after the fact, but you can lodge oils and conditioners in the gaps of the keratin. Your scalp is supplied by blood vessels, so is already supplied with nutrients without needing stimulation. If it were deficient in nutrients without the rest of the body being deficient, then it would also be deficient in blood in general, including oxygen carrying blood cells, and so would become numb as a result. This would be a medical issue needing more than a massage.

Off topic of this video, but which products would you recommend for styling hair? I work in an office and I have to keep my hair fairly tamed during the day. I don't like the fact of always putting paste or buddy due to alcohol content. Any brand names to recommend would be awesome, thanks.

+Matthew Blanchette I usually just put a bit of argan oil and brush it and tie it back just before going to work. It will stay pretty flat most of the day. I'll usually have it in a simple badass men's tail or like a double high ball. The boss thinks its still pretty professional. So... yeah. Hope this helps!

Damm this is real good I am just starting to grow out my hair for the first time and most of the guys in my family are bald so this really helps

Most of the guys are bald? Ask each member of the baldy crew individually if they used any hair products in their youth, and also try and find out which brands of shampoo they used... see if you can identify any correlation between toxic products and hair loss. That's my hypothesis, balding is causing by environmental toxicity from the food/products we use etc. Going from having hair, to not having hair, is not a genetic mutation in a Positive direction. I was thinking about this recently, don't you think it's insane that no one really cares why guys hair falls out. People think it's a joke and just accept it, like it's not indicative of Sever Toxicity, when that's clearly what it is; It's The Baldy Disease.

hey, I know you say don't brush when wet, but my dilemma is that when I brush when fully dry my hair frizzes. Currently I am in the late awkward phase (profile pic not updated), and I haven't yet found a way around this...any advice? Also, i always seem to accidentally catch a knot when shampooing/conditioning, any comments on this would be helpful. Thanks for all the awesome posts!

+Andrew Villa Yo man! So if you prefer to brush when it's wet just make sure you use a brush designed for wet brushing, here is a solid one goo.gl/zdWZFG As for the knots questions. That makes me think you are pooing incorrectly. You want to use the shampoo on the scalp and really focus on massaging it into the top of the head, the rest will run off into the rest of your hair. Do a nice rinse and then apply the conditioner from the top of your neck down, let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Once you rinse that out your hair should be feeling real smooth with little to no knots. You can then rub your hands through a couple times to make sure your knotiess.

The Longhairs also, a extra widetooth comb before rinsing out the conditioner should deal with most remaining knots in tangle-prone hair (like mine).

So it's natural to lose a bit of hair when brushing? Because even If I run my fingers through my hair, I am guarenteed to pull out 1 hair strand, now I know that doesn't sound much but I don't like it, it seems pointless to grow my hair long if that shit happens. Also, I thought combing would be after brushing since the comb bristles are closer to each other than the brush.

+Vinny V Yea man you will constantly be losing and gaining hair all throughout the time you have long hair. The comb first is to break up the knots, so when you brush you can get deep in there without any hangups.

I use a detangler as an alternate for a comb since I don't own one. Then I brush my hair with an actual brush. Is this ok?

A professional once told me that you should not brush (or close shave like with a hand razor) the head, particulary around the ears because it simulate the glands and so can cause hair loss because high gland activity is connected with hair loss. Can somebody enlighten me on this please?
