The Perfect Grind
At the heart of every delicious cup of coffee is coffee beans that are ground just right. The Melitta Epos is also equipped with a coffee grinder that deposits the grounds straight into the filter. Just choose how coarse (or fine!) you want your coffee grounds to be and how many cups of coffee you want, and the Epos will do the rest for you.
A Careful Pour
The gentle pouring done by hand during manual pour over brewing helps achieve an even extraction that brings out the coffee’s best flavours. The Epos is designed to disperse water in a rotating motion to mimic the manual pour. It also comes equipped with a pre-infusion function that “blooms’ the coffee.
Customisable Functions
All of the Epos’ functionalities, from the pre-infusion to the coffee strength, can be set from its sleek, minimalist touch panel with also has a descaling alert that lets you know when it’s time to give your coffee maker a deep clean.
Melitta Epos Pour Over System Features
Integrated Grinder - Every great brew starts with a good grinder. The Epos comes with an integrated grinder that can be set according to your preferences and places the grounds onto the filter automatically.
Pre-infusion - To rid the coffee beans of carbon dioxide build-up, the grounds must be wet gently before brewing can begin. The Melitta Epos does this expertly with one touch of a button.
Rotating water flow - Unique to manual brewing is the careful motion of the hands to create a circular water flow. The rotating water dispersal of Epos does exactly this to promote an even coffee extraction.
Touch panel - In line with the rest of the coffee maker’s design is the sleek touch panel where you can set the grind of the beans, the strength of the brew, pre-infusion, and more.
Easy to clean - The bean hopper, grinder burrs, and the water tank is detachable and easy to wash. The same goes for the filter holder and jug which are even dishwasher-safe!
Hot plate - After brewing, the hot plate keeps the coffee in the glass server warm for up to 40 minutes.
Eye-catching design - Last but not least, the smooth corners and flawless exterior of the Epos make it a handsome piece of equipment that’s a delight to use and display.

This machine is great. There is only one thing I cant figure out. After the 40 min passed and autostop kicked in, is there any way making the same coffe warm again on the machine?

I have a Melitta Epour and I always get sour coffee using the Epour even when grinding finer and trying different coffees. What else could I try to change, to get less sour coffees with it? In my case I always end up with a really steap cone shaped coffee bed and not a nice flat one. I think from the brewing perspective the two are quite similar.

100% similar yes, identical even. I would suggest using less coffee in the basket. If you want to try a long pre-infusion, just allow the beans to get fully saturated than tap the brew button - and the Epour will stop and go in to a sort of stand by mode - (not very automatic I know) and you can program it to do all of this automatically though - I would suggest just trying it first to see if it works ... wiat say 40 sec - 1 min than tao the brew button again to start the Brewing cycle up again. In terms of the cone, and not flat bad - I haven't consistently got flat beds, but it hasn't been terrible either. I've found with a finer grind and a slower draw down gets better results. The filter basket almost fills to the top before the boiler runs out.

If i want only 15g per cup, is it possible. As i understand from you it’s 18g per 1L, which considered not strong coffee. Please advise me if im wrong Thank you

Yes that's okay 👌 18g of coffee per litre> that doesn't sound right ... 🤔 It's 60g-70g per 1L. So if looking to brew a single cup with 15g coffee - measure out 240g water and place in the back of the water reservoir

Reviewed by James Hoffmann like a pandemic ago, he suggested 60g/l and critizised the really awful adjustment of the grinder.

The Adjustment of the Grinder is better than you'd expect - for machines that have in-built grinders - I'd agree they're always a little underwhelming - ESPECIALLY for espresso - but this is well suited for Brewed coffee and the grinder does as good a job as if you had a Baratza Encore instead. Apologies ! 18:1 as a ratio. Not 18g - 1L 🤦 - So around 55g / 1L. 16.5:1 ratio is 60g/1L, I mention this is the ideal setting for coffee brewing. All respect - James Hoffman has incredibly high standards that reflect a pinnacle of coffee brewing - and it was more of a Head-to-head, and If I recall - this machine actually came out on top. The worst thing I could say about this machine is its grinder could do with a catch bin.

18g per litre? 😳 Surely that can’t be right? I’ve always worked to a guideline of 60g/litre, so 18g is more like an espresso dose.
