Sir how to raise the fry n when they breed again after breeding once n whats the actaual size of a breeder

sir, correct me if im wrong.. 1. look for rounder belly? 2. afternoon at 4-5pm 3. put hornwort plant w/ no holes? 4. feed live food like worm, etc.?

Yes. The plant is optional though.If you can have holes small enough so the danios cannot pass through then the plant is not really needed during the breeding. Happy fish keeping!!!

As far as I know, if it's not as genetic as albino, it doesn't have pink or yellow. As far as I know, it's either pigmented or injected into food or water. Maybe it didn't have a regular danio?

How long before should the females and males be separated? And how do you know they're going to lay eggs?

I waited 2 weeks. but this might depend how old your danios is. Mine was 4months old i think. They will naturally produce eggs as you see them become rounder. That's my indicator that they are ready to lay eggs. Just feed them live food during the conditioning process. Also make sure water quality is good.

The plants name is Hornwort. I just used that as additional supply of oxygen in the water and to block the holes at the bottom. As you can see that was not enough as some of the danios were able to swim pass through the holes.

Females are rounder in shape because of the eggs they carry. In color, not really. Specially the yellow ones, they're all the same.

Is it necessary to separate male from female on the early stage of breeding as shown in the video? Ty for response. For thesis purpose :)

No, I just patterned that from my betta breeding since danios can be pretty aggressive too. Just make sure to place them in the breeding tank in the afternoon. Around 4-5PM.

oh sorry, that's Methylene blue. it should be available in the pet shops. very cheap as well. Just to ensure no bacterial growth. You can also put a mild aerator.

Make sure the water is clean and provide them live foods (blood worm, Daphnia or BBS).

are they going to lay egg after the breeding? only 24hrs?

Yes. Just separate the females and males during the conditioning. Females should be round in shape indicating that they have more eggs. put them in the breeding set up around afternoon. They will lay eggs at dawn. The real challenge is raising the fry. Happy fishkeeping!

Danios, like most fish, are external fertilizers. They breed by releasing the eggs and sperm together into the water. They don't get pregnant like livebearers, nor do they mate and then lay the fertilized eggs like birds.

Natatakot ako gumamit ng breeding net.. kasi lumulusot sila.. dko na alam ano pa ibang option sa pag breed without the net
