    @@rottiemomx3 It went really well! Monty (my pony) was an absolute saint :) it took about two or three hours and then I gave him another bath after so that there were no pieces of hair or any oil from the clippers left on him. Monty got lots of treats and cuddles after 💕

    For those like me living in a cold climate, quick trick to get your horse clean before clipping. First off, groom off your horse as you normally would. Afterwards, take baby wipes (or a rag that's damp) and scrub your horse top to bottom, also, make sure your brushes are clean!! This helps me out lots!

    So I just clipped my horse jet and the clippers just stopped cutting his hair , they just pull on his hair but they don’t cut . Do I need to switch out the blade?

  • @Ridingwarehouse

    @Ridingwarehouse

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ashley! Sorry for the late response, but yes, it sounds like the blades are dull and need to be changed out! You can either buy new blades for your clippers or find a local professional blade sharpener or cutler to have yours sharpened. Please let us know if you have any other questions or comments! ~Katie, RW

    Would you recommend stopping and cooling the blades every 5 minutes if we won’t be switching out our blade?? Also, can I still use a T-84 on the face and legs?

  • @Ridingwarehouse

    @Ridingwarehouse

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Layla, thank you for your question! We suggest giving your clippers a break at least every 10-15 minutes of use. Every clipper is different though, so you will need to check to see how hot the blades are getting. You may need to do stop under the suggested time if your blades get hot quickly. And yes, you can use the T-84 on the face and legs, however, the wider blade may be difficult to maneuver around small areas. Please let us know if you have any further questions and we would be happy to assist you. ~Katie, RW

    Is there a reason why people do that, like to get a nicer maine / hair or is it just for aesthetics?

    Sometimes horses can be really hot to the point where they can't support it.

  • @PurplePoppyAnimator

    @PurplePoppyAnimator

    Hey! Thought I'd go into more detail for you. :) In colder countries and in the Winter, is the main time to clip horses, it is done during other times of the year for showing, but it has an especially important purpose in the colder months. When we work our horses, ride them, train them and exercise them, horses sweat, just like humans do! This keeps their body temperature cool as they heat up during exercise, however when they grow a thick, wooly Winter coat, this can be a detriment to them, because now that sweat that covers their body, keeping them cool is now making them too cold and they're freezing wet and soaked with all that saturated fur. When they're saturated to the skin like that, they're more prone to Respiratory Infections, catching Chills, Weight Loss (which is super hard to keep on a horse during Winter as is), shivering and stress. So when we clip their coats short, the sweat that they produce dries off extremely quickly and can be scraped off at an instant! This keeps the horse nice and dry, however you need to replace that coat you've cut with nice warm rugs for them. I hope this helps!

    Hello! There are multiple reasons for clipping horses, however, it is typically done to keep a horse comfortable when they are exercised in the winter months. Please refer to this guide for more details on why horses are clipped: www.ridingwarehouse.com/lc/training/equine-clipping/how-to-body-clip-your-horse.html?from=yt ~Katie, RW

    Shame on you for taking off a horse what God gave to them. Their hair is on them for a reason. Do your homework on hair removal of horses because you're not helping a hard you're harming them. If you want a clip clip your own hair😢
