I sincerely hope that find find the tips in this video to be helpful and valuable! Many people get in cosmetology school and think "Who is getting blow dry styles?" but they are actually used all the time in the industry across multiple hair textures and curl patterns. Blow dry styling can be a great way to style hair more quickly with less direct heat on the hair. You can also blow the hair out rather smooth, prior to flat ironing so you don't end up needing to use as high of heat on a flat iron. Ultimately, it is an excellent time saving technique, that can help you earn more in the salon!

Thank you very much for showing us the blow out and all the tips. I will be using them. I am partial to my new blow dryer, the Rusk Speed Freak. I think tourmaline is what I'm looking for in a blow dryer and I think it's 2,000 watts. I use different brushes as I blow out. I use the Ibiza, large barrel, Chaz Dean (Wen) hair brush and Sam Villa brush. I'm a Wen girl and my hair is better now than when I was 20. Again, thank you, your video was straight to the point and not all that rhetoric. Very well done! XO

It's true. In most cases they are trying to have type 4 hair behave in a way its not supposed to. Type 4 hair doesn't lay flat as it naturally has a lot of volume. In order to force it to lay flat it requires a high heat setting and multiple passes. Even worse if the client has low porosity hair. It's going to take even longer to dry and require more passes. Plus a lot of the time the hair isn't protected with a heat damage reducing product. Blow outs in a general sense isn't good for type 4 hair.

I use combs for blowing out hair to braid it, but not for styling or silk pressing. I usually use a paddle brush or a round brush for that, they get the hair smoother.
