OMG Johnny! I want to say thank you so very much for this tutorial! I am 42 years young, and this is the by far absolute best eyeshadow tutorial I have ever seen! I'm a cosmetologist and have taken many of makeup classes from Mac, TiGi, Aveda Etc. Your tutorial has been by far the very best! You are so extremely talented, and wonderful on camera to boot! You are both adorable and gorgeous! Also, I highly enjoy your Sephora skits! Honestly, thank you so much can't wait to try everything you showed us today!

My mom used to spend 2 hours on her makeup, mostly on her eyes. She lived in that 1960's cat-eye look. I have never worn makeup partially because she was so extreme. You're so welcoming that I actually have thought about makeup for the first time in 54 years. Some of why I watch you is the attention to detail and the drug store makeup remind me of my mom at her best. But you have made it all accessible. Thank you.

I Will be catching up to you soon enough! Fortunately figured out skin care before I turned 20. It must have been something from a magazine. Eye cream became my raison de être. It just felt nice. Then, another bolt from the blue: *Zits go away; wrinkles are forever.* So I had to up my game. Most of the girls eschewed any kind of face lotions; too scared of triggering zits. Remember when we had Noxema, Pond’s, and that gawd awful orange Cover Girl foundation that reeked if more Noxema. Ugh. It was cool when Bonne Bell came along but skin care wasn’t their jam. Any procedure that my bank accounts allow, I’m there. I can honestly say I don’t look my age. Hopefully we can keep that going. For me, aging gracefully is not something nature would support 😅me with. I’ll get my own, thanks. I will leave you with this: *Jeanne Shrimpton is *everything.’❤

Hiya. I’m a blind guy ( I have 10 percent Vision left) and I really felt inspired to play with makeup because of you. As of last month I’ve been having so much fun trying different products. Of course as a newbie I’m experiencing the hardships of ‘muddy’ and ‘I look like a clown’ moments. Maybe not everyone has these moments, but I do. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’m thankful for this video as it gave me new tips to try out and I think I found a few of my mistakes. You’re awesome!❤

I think you’re right! The muddy moments is what I try to avoid but I’m starting to think are necessary to perfect your technique. Bravo! Quick question, I find it pretty hard to see without my glasses and that keeps me from doing eye makeup, how do you do yours? I’m too old to lean into bathroom mirrors. Do you use particular tools?

This was phenomenal❗ You should do a "Make up 101 Series". All types of eyeshadow tutorials: daytime, evening, metallic, dramatic, natural, etc. Then a contouring tutorial. A blush and bronzer tutorial. How to choose foundations. How and when to use blenders, brushes and fingers. And how and why to choose colors of all make ups. And most of all how not to feel intimidated going into an Ulta or Sephora.

Oooh so pretty. This is most comprehensive eyeshadow tutorial I've ever seen. The blending explanation like when u say" when you think you've run out of color, go ahead and blah blah", those are subtleties that help a dummy like me! Thank you for including hooded eye instruction#, can never match any eye looks because of this. The explanation of eye brushes is important because I've always thought, "well who cares about buying 50 different little brushes set, can just use whatever to apply". But there's a reason! Thank you💜🤗

For years I have watched and followed and tried every blending for beginners or perfect eyeshadow and i still never look like the person in the video. UNTIL TODAY!!!!!!! I cant stop looking at myself in the mirror and how gorgous and perfectly blended it is. I love how he didn't get too technical about hand and finger placement but more changing brushes and when to never use again.

What a great educational video. You are an awesome teacher, I like how you explain the where, but then also the why. It makes so much sense to a novice, as well as to a seasoned makeup lover. . Thank you. I'd love to see more educational, in depth video's like this!

I appreciate the detailed explanations. I love watching tutorials so i can learn but no one goes into such detail about shapes and motions as well as explaining why you do it that way. Thanks.
