One good tip when powering up the Rx from the FC is to connect the Micro-USB end and use the USB end (The side of the cable going into the PC) to complete the connection. The Micro-USB connection can be a bit tough to work when you only got one hand. The larger USB connection is much easier to plug into the PC with one hand than having to mess with the tighter connection to the FC

I do agree completely. Problem I have is my computer is 4 feet away from me. Makes things a pain when flashing firmware using the bootloader.

@@ProjectBlueFalcon I know this is 4 years old, but I would recommend running an extension usb cable to a hub on your desk. This has been proven to be very useful to me since I started doing that years ago.

Thank you!!!! I have been trying for about 6 months to figure this transmitter receiver out? Even more, on my receiver they put shrink tubing over the button so you can't see it? I had to cit it off to get access to the binding button. Your explanation on the trx setup also was on the money. Thank you for this video. (Thumbs up from me!)

This worked with the newer X-Lite controller aswell. This receievr is a bit older(XSR) but should do the job quite fine...Thanks bud!

Hey there! :) i got a problem with my xsr...my quad randomly fell out of the sky during a punchout, and now my xsr just flashes both the red and green led when i turn on my transmitter. when i turn off my transmitter the xsr turns to only blinking the red led as it should. I can't find my problem on any forums... it makes no sence to me :'( and yes, both are the EU LBT, it worked perfect before the crash... :( hope you have any clue about what might be going on.

This is alittle off subject but need help, i have flashed my r xsr with latest firnware and it binds to my radiomaster tx16 no problem, radio shows inputs,outputs mix and strong signal but in inav 2.5 in recever port there is no stick inputs at all. I have green wire from reciever to sbus, power and ground to uart 2, ive also set serial and sbus in inav I have switched around wires everway posibble but still no stick inputs, I also tested restiance on f405 wing but looks fine. Maybe you have seen this before maybe you can help? Thanks

I have an xsr-receiver question: Recently I do not get any "Fuel" telemetry information anymore to my taranis (I have kiss gear with 24A ESCs) and I cant really say why. All the other telemtry data like voltage or current work as they should, just mah do not work anymore. So I started to investigate a bit and somehow I found out that I have continuity between the signal and ground solder points of my antenna. In other words: when I put one sensor of my MM to the signal wire of one of the xsr-antennas and the second sensor I place on any other ground-contact, I get a beep. Can this be? Or lets say...is that as it should be? thx for your help!!

Hey R. goljator, missed you bud. I just did the same test and I'm getting continuity between both signal wires and between signal and ground. I believe thats normal though because I'm also getting the "fuel" sensor as well. I believe this will depend on the flight controller. Which flight controller are you using?

Project Blue Falcon Thanks for your answer! okay, good to know that at least the receiver is okay. i have a kiss fc and flyduino (distibutor of the board) already offered to return it for a check. But since i had a spare Kiss FC i replaced it with that one and the outcome was the same...strange, right?

So does that mean that i can only connect FrSky recievers to Taranis transmitters? I've got a rather expensive Futaba Tx, but as Futaba went out of business a few years ago, original Futaba recievers are increasingly hard to obtain...

Can you suggest a cheap FC that can give a receiver power thru USB for binding purpose? Thank you!

Almost all of them do it nowdays. Of all of them I think the best bang for the buck is the Omnibus F3 now selling for around $23-25. Or you can get a Omnibus F4 for about $37. Of the ones I've used the RMRC Dodo, SPRacing Mini, SPRacing Evo, X-Racer F303 V3.1, and Revolt all can power the receiver with USB. But like I said most do it so there are even more than that.

What does a solid green/solid red light mean when you initiate the bind on the xsr? Does that scenario apply to your last comment about the transmitter and the receiver being on different firmwares?

Yep. Looks like you have mix matching firmwares. You'll have to change one. Here is how to change the firmware on your receiver kzread.info/dash/bejne/emqJzZqupa-uiNo.html

I try to bind my XSR to my qx7 but the receiver will not power on could it be a bad FC that I have. This is the Fc I have F3 Flight Controller Acro 6 DOF/Deluxe 10 DOF for Multirotor Racing. When you print the Manuel it say Seriously Pro Racing F3 flight Controller Revision 3. Same thing happen with my XM+ receiver it will not power one connect to this board. Any help will greatly appreciated

Did you ever get an answer? I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to give power from my laptop to my fc and it won't power up the XSR, so I can't bind.

If the solid green and red lights appear during the binding process, does it also mean the firmwares are conflicting?

2:45 minut in film is a binding process and trash talk before that in case someone needs it.

I have done this, however, when I take my Qav X out to fly and pull on the altitude stick nothing happens

I am guessing you maybe figured out your problem? Its failing to arm for some reason. For me, my throttle off range was set too low, and I had to raise it about 70ish above what it showed my minimum throttle at in betaflight to correct the arming fault.

can you bind this receiver to the new tarans qx7?

so I got the receiver and connected it to 5v an ground but just got smoke and no led lights at all

Same here.......

When I plug my xsr in to bind it i only get a sold red light and a solid green light. Anybody know what is wrong? Why is the red light not blinking?

@@szanibodo940701 sorry. That was the next issue I encountered. I got the xsr to bind by flashing the firmware on the transmitter and the xsr to match.

My instructions say accst.. but won't bind..

Mine is flashing red the green

I got a blinking red light
