Do you think you could use a drill to rotate the pipe?

You could use a drill, it would only get it difficult as the pipe softens and gets all floppy..... unless you held the pipe vertical... then boom! It would work !

Does the heating affect the structural rating of the conduit?

That can work on simple curves but it doesn't work when trying to do complex curves like in the video.

Why didn’t you use metal conduit? It is flexible and can be painted too.

Obviously metal conduit can be bent and painted but it is much more difficult to do with complex bends. With heated pvc conduit you can bend it right over the unique area and have it cool in place to form to the exact desired shape. It is so easy our short, caveman of a worker, can even do it.
