Yes. I think those are the ones with the longest lasting relationships.

My best friend so happens to be of the opposite sex and that has never been a problem for us. I genuinely loved watching him fall in love and build a fulfilling, strong relationship with his girlfriend and I enjoy spending time with both of them without feeling jealous. His relationship with his girlfriend is just different then with me and I like seeing how they grow closer. It kinda gives me hope that there can be mature, healthy relationships (both romantic and platonic)

Just a great friend, but then yesterday he asked me if I wanted to go out and it just bumps me out. I feel like I’m doing something wrong because , the thing is that I only, just in general have a genuine interest in people I like. I don’t want to send misleading signals

I know in the past I have lied to myself about wanting to be friends with a guy. In the past I would think that I would want a guy as a male friend but in actuality I wanted to be in a relationship with him and I only wanted a "friendship" because I convinced myself that if he spent more time with me, he would fall in love me (did not work btw)

It's tricky. I've developed crushes on guy friends. Once they realized that I liked them, they became distant. I've learned not to consider going out with pals.

Such a great video! Yes, men and women can be friends and you do a great job explaining boundaries in friendship. Yes, I agree that friends are simply thrilled when friends find a great partner, and later they can even sometimes have "get togethers" going to events as couples.

I have friends who are guys, and we are still friends to this day. I also have a guy best friend but he passed on a few years ago. So, I think, yes.. it is possible to have guy friends and just be friends. :)

My main friend is a guy. So yes men and women can just be friends. I’ve made it clear to him that I’m very happy with the friendship we have and wouldn’t want anything to change it. We have been friends since senior year of hs and now finishing our 2nd year of college. His family is like a 2nd family to me.

Not friends, acquaintances. Friendships take years to build up and require the same effort as love relationships. I would say "good company, people trying to know each other better", but not "friends".

it’s possible to just be friends. i have guys that i’ve been friends with for years and i have never had romantic feeling for them and they’ve never had them for me. but i have also had friendships that turned romantic. i even went back to being friends with one of the guys, when we learned our long term goals didn’t clashed massively.

Yes you can have friends that are of the opposite sex. Underlying attraction is common but one doesn't have to act on it (if it's just one sided or if the situation doesn't permit).

Hi Ryan, so I ended up being friends with my recent ex. We were in a relationship for less than a year. He is now in a new relationship and we have gone out on double dates with one another. We communicate openly with his new partner and vice versa. Of course it took a lot of time to get to this point and surprised me but we are better off as platonic friends.

Men tried to go that route to get into a relationship we me. I was often blindsided. So I'm not too sure anymore...

Yes men and women can be friends and but like you said they both have to be honest about this friendship it's good for men to learn how to relate to women and it's good for women to learn how to relate to men to friendships this is how that interaction is built I mean think about it if you don't have any brothers or there's no dad influence and all you do is hang with women how you going to even know what a man's about. I absolutely think men and women can be just friends. In fact, I have a few good male friends, men I've known for years and years. There has never been anything more between us on either side. There have been times where I find out that a male friend of mine wanted more, and that's usually when things go south. I really hate that because and it hurts me to hurt them by not returning the feeling. I greatly cherish my friends and I hate losing one.

I think it could be. Men and women can be friends. I know this guy from college, he was very nice to me. When I told him I am about to transferred to an out of state school, he suggested that we should go out. Anyway, my point is that he just my classmate, why do I said no to him right? If you aren't sexually attracted to each other, but you got to know each other because of other circumstances, then you might be able to be just friends. If you are always spending time with just each other and each other's families, it is likely more meaningful to one of you. When people don't have the intimate relationship they want, they will be putting effort into finding it, so if someone is spending a significant portion of their free time with you, that means they have already found who they want, you! If someone you aren't interested in romantically is giving you most of their attention, make sure they know you aren't interested in a romantic relationship with them, don't always be available to them, and spend time with others. If being your friend keeps them tied to hope for being with you, you should stop being their friend. They have difficulty managing their emotions, and won't be able to move on as long as you're friends.

Absolutely men and women can be friends ...I have maybe two female friends but 5 or 6 male friends, several of them for 10 years or longer. All of them are heterosexual and often come to me for a listening ear about their various relationships and sometimes advice. Their girlfriends have met me or at least know who I am and I am always polite to them but we don't usually hang out.

I think men and women can have platonic relationships, as long as both people know up front what the boundaries are; because it can turn into something awkward quickly, if one of those people gets all up in their feels.

My best friend is a guy I work with and have known for 17 + years. 4 years ago we had a hot steamy fling that lasted 3 months. It didn't end badly at all just abruptly. Things were awkward for while. Dang, called out as part of the 78%. Can men and women be just friends? Yes and No. I have found that while you can remain friendly with men - when time together is limited and you're more acquaintances (at work, among a group of friends, etc.)... I find that if a man is really wanting to "hang out" with a woman, he tends to be what I call "a pickle in the jar" - someone waiting for an opportunity to date. Men seem to always work with intentions for some kind of return on their time and investment. Pretty much everyone of the opposite sex who invests time on me, I gauge my own interest and respond accordingly...colder and unavailable if not interested, or flirt a bit. I'm not a subscriber because you are designed to help single women who don't match me and my situationships. However, I find your content entertaining and sometimes eye-opening about male behavior. I'm the "bad" woman on your channel who is interested in someone at work, which you frown upon, so that prevents me from subscribing. I wish life were clear cut, but it's not always!

i need advice ☹️ i tried getting into his favorite game and anime, but he still doesn’t talk much with me. we text a lot since we only share one class at the end of the day, but he sits across the class so we don’t talk much in person. we aren’t close yet so i understand we’re not going to be conversing constantly but idk what further to do while also not seeming annoying/needy

Yes, men and women can be friends without sex. Not everyone is attracted to everyone, and it's also possible to be low-key attracted to someone and choose not to pursue it.

I 100% don’t think that guys and girls can be just friends (unless you work with them and have no choice but to be around them and develop a friendship)... b/c there’s ALWAYS one person that wants more and are just playing the friend card hoping that it’ll grow into something more... I think men and women can only be friends 'at arms length', not close friends. A romantic relationship is not just sexual, it's also emotional. So having a growing emotional relationship with a 'friend' of the opposite sex is actually part of what a romantic relationship is all about, especially for a woman. There is an attachment and connection whether it's just emotional, just sexual, or both. Close friends should be saved for those of the same sex.

I have to say is difficult to be pure friends with guys. As either one would fall for each other. But is not that is not possible. As I do have 3 guys buddies. But is harder compare having same gender friendship. And i do have many gays friends, which is great, they never fall for me.. 😂 And we can be so close n honest with each other without having any expectations. 😉

Not always. I've had two male best friends (heterosexual men) with no sexual intention at all. One of them has been my friend since 1993 and the other one since 2005. But I notice it's kinda rare because one often ends up wanting more, so you're right, but not 100%.
