I have been thinking about fear of failure and fear of making art a lot recently and this put so many of those thoughts into words, amazing advice, thank you!
So well said! We agree strongly with this message: Don't let fear be a barrier to making art! This doesn't only apply to new artists and people teaching themselves. Maybe you've had a good start to life as a artist, and an unplanned life challenge forces a detour, leaving you afraid to try again. The voice of fear that says, "I can't" or "It's going to be a disaster, I haven't worked in so long" will go silent when you stop listening and start making art.

you guys should totally sponsor lilstarnerd! I think she is such a positive force in the art community that is very relatable to many of us out here in the interwebs

Absolutely! It's so easy to get into our heads about art, but the truth is, art often comes from the heart and soul!
oh gosh, missed this video! I hope you read the comments back this years halloween plans.. so we set up a graveyard in our garden again, we have large, walking spider, loads of decoration ideas we still have to put together and more! we spent the past couple days making little flesh eating plants out of paper and glue. my childhood friend drove all the way down here to visit and he was super excited to help with our little crafts!
loved monster high, literally just drew both draculaura and lagoona, and since i saw the news about velma also drew the characters from scoob doo, love your drawings!! so crazy the coincidence!!
I love this, I need to break out of my comfort zone and really experiment more!
The textures and gradients in these spreads are so fun! You also verbalized what you mean about not wanting advice and why you encourage others to do the same really well in this video. I totally fall in the trap of over-preparing with tutorials, which takes away from actually doing and enjoying art. (P.S. Blick is in your DM's...that's so cool!)
the production quality of your vids just keeps getting better and better wow, big ups to you!!
Sooooo excited for spoopy season!! I have some fun little handmade yarn pumpkins from a local crafter, and a few spooky prints from some of my favorite artists. 🎃 I absolutely agree with your art advice: The only way to truly get better at art is to practice. One of the things that most fascinates me about art is color and light, and I’ve taken so many classes and watched so many videos on the subject! But all the head knowledge means nothing without putting it into practice, and trying and failing myself. Nothing has taught me more than simply practicing!
It's lovely in a 'meta' way to see your favourite artists cross-pollinating and make some different iterations of the same kind of concept. It just is fun to see people do the same idea and put their own personality on it! ;D As for your statement, it's so beautiful and all-encompassing. Meaning, I think it's well-formed but also says some good lessons for young artists. Artists is stumbling and falling, taking time to explore, something social media completely wrecks IMO! (with it's speed of posting) so I love what you mentioned and not being afraid to try instead of needing all the answers right away. Having a few experimentations honestly felt bad as a teen doing art and as we grow older and want to make great art, experimentation becomes safety, but it also takes some joy out of at.
Ngl, when you said "I'm not immune... I'm not immune to pretty girls" I just busted out laughing and said "Wow, me"😂
Very well said, the best thing is to just try and get something down on paper, to just begin creating, and if it doesn’t work out… you’re the only person that will see it so what’s the harm?
Love this video and the message it's always a good reminder that its okay to, even necessary to, fail. Because omg I find it SO hard to just draw/paint. I'm always looking for the next tutorials/courses. I feel like I'm not good enough to just do things because it will look bad. 😅 I'm a bit jealous on people who did art from a very young age and were able to just make stuff without self judgement. I'm trying to work towards doing things because I enjoy it and it not having to be perfect. But it's hard 😂

it takes a lot of work but you've got this!!! maybe it'd be a good idea to "draw like a kid" if that's where you feel you missed out! coloring pages, doodles, scribbles!! i love doing those kinds of things to make myself loosen up!
YES THE NEW MONSTER HIGH DOLLS!!!!!! I love this so much
I love your channel, it's how I'd love to share my work some day in the future! You are a natural in front of the camera and give such comfy vibes! I also love that you're based in Florida because I am too! Gives me so much hope(since all the big artists seems to be in LA and Canada or generally international)! Personally I'm doing pumpkin picking and carving between both family and friend days we set aside. Also, holding a Halloween Party for my friends (despite working 😞) but all in all I love spooky season! I love your videos Have a great spook-tober

those sound like great plans!!!! i hope you have a great halloween!!!
I will quote every word you say about growing as an Artist in this Video and put it in my sketchbook as a reminder for myself. Because my fears to just do art are hunting me and I'm tired of it. Thank you!
I was already wanting to get a fun fragrance and after your last dossier sponsored video I bought their “fruity almond” scent and I was scared about buying a perfume I couldn’t smell before hand but I have no regrets it’s smells so good

Love a good spooky pretty girl spread 😁 As for Halloween plans, I’m most likely going to a costume game night and I’m debating on going as Cinderella, although I do want to dress up as Ariel one day and the new movie is really tempting me. Maybe next year!

2:04 even though we don't celebrate halloween in russia, I absolutely adore autumn and halloween! for decorations, I have a hand-made garland with pumpkins, skulls, a ghost and a spider; a little jack-o-lantern plastic pumpkin, some orange fake spider web with spiders, and a new addition: a garland with little skeletons that look very realistic (it's kinda scary). as for plans, I think I'll finally watch "hocus pocus" (both movies) for the first time. we sadly don't have any spooky deserts or pastry in stores for halloween so I might make muffins or cookies myself:)

I don’t really have Halloween plans, I’m probably gonna wear the plague doctor costume I’ve been wearing for a few years in a row after I grew out of trick-or-treating, which I wear when I help hand out candy. It’s funny that a few kids think it’s supposed to be a bird.
my girlfriend and i are going as kermit the frog and gonzo the great for halloween since we both have green and blueish-purple hair
Hi, I love your drawings! What are the pencils you're using called?
Hi hope all is well i love your art I have a channel and I am looking for a marker organizer where did you get yours!?
I’m gonna go as Scaramouche from Genshin Impact for Halloween!
hello!
this Halloween my friends and I are going on a trip to Highfuls this place is well known because of there spooky, crazy, and the fun area around Halloween every year and it is in the news every yearmy friends and I might me dress up in zombie minions
halloween is not a huge thing here and its our anniversary so we dont give out candy, keep it for ourselves lol creating is all about failing and excepting that in order to learn you will f*ck up
I know disneys mermaid is nostalgic and the songs are catchy but it’s still a story about a girl who puts aside family and gives up her voice (ugh!) for some guy she doesn’t even know and is expected to win him with “body language”. Really if it weren’t a disney animation with all the character design and music, women might be horrified or -at the very least -insulted by this storyline, no?
Okay, I'm taking up the challenge and I'm going to make a bunch of mistakes 😅. Pray for me
