Leave a comment if I left out anything important! Edit: the only non-speedcube lube I'm aware of that works well is Traxxas 50k or anything similar. I don't think there is any common household item that works well as lube unfortunately.

However I think I have a much slower method to get them into the top layer in the first place as I'm not very good at recognizing patterns. I find it really useful to learn other methods/events like One-Handed, Blindfolded, Roux and ZZ, so you have a better general knowledge about how the cube works. Before trying Roux I really couldn't do slice moves, and after trying to learn some EG-1 algs for 2x2, I learn a lot of useful fingertricks! Roux and Blindfolded teached me quite a bit of wide moves, and One-Handed... It's a completely unique set of Fingertricks, and it developed my pinky muscle memory so much! I haven't tried ZZ yet, but I'm pretty sure it's good for learn when an F2L case (usually) needs a rotation or not.

"Leave a comment if I left out anything important!" In the video, you mentioned how weight 5 can slow down the cube, but newer cubers may not understand the importance of slowing it down (they may think faster => better). This may dissuade them from buying the best lube. I guess you could explain why slowing down the cube is important in the description/pinned comment?

It seems to me that F2L is probably the easiest and most intuitive to learn to do it quickly. I'm not too worried about cube rotation, making the cross on the white side quickly, but I am very interested in learning the OLL & PLL steps of CFOP. On the other hand, I doubt I'll ever really take up speedcubing, which is probably why I'm not too worried about trying to speed up. I'm sub 2, and pretty happy with that, and it's enough to amaze my kids! lol! Even though I won't take it up myself, thanks for all you do to make speedcubing accessible to the masses! :-)

@@andyflips1766 and that's the misconception of people, good cubes can make a difference but not a way big difference. Trust me I was sub 35 myself on "Rubicks" cube then I switched to Jperm RS3M 2020 and was expecting to get sub 28 but I was getting almost same result. Unless your rubicks brand cube really really sucks, I don't think you will be able to get sub 30 on good cube WITHOUT PRACTISE. Actually I noticed for the first few days I was faster on my rubicks brand cube than on my rs3m because I wasn't used to it or basically I didn't have it's practise. So if you wanna become sub 30,practise that's it nothing else but yeah you should probably look into buying a good cube for sub 30 because it's difficult if you're not expert at cfop or other advanced techniques.

Im at sub 25 average at struggling as hell on learning look ahead ( i know i have a lot other things to.improve too). One of the main issues is actually focusing on looking for other parts while putting into slot (even tho i dont need to look at it). More frustrating is that i struggle with figuring out my 'progress' in it. Simetimes pairs like pop up just in front of your eyes so you dont really need to do anything special to 'look ahead', but sometimes they hide on the back etc. Hence its difficult to measure whatever i get better or simply being more lucky.
