The concept of Level 5 Leadership was defined in Good To Great by Jim Collins. It was created based on identifying leadership traits during a five-year study of publicly-traded companies. Level 5 Leadership was impactful because all identified good-to-great companies began their transformation under a level 5 leader’s guidance.

I would be interested in you exploring the last point around "promoting from within" concept a bit more, especially in light of companies that want to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. If DEI are core aspects to leadership in the company, some companies have to look outside their organizations to achieve DEI goals.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the author would say there. I suspect the ideal scenario would be focusing on DEI much earlier and at all levels, so the organization could get the benefit of internal experience and DEI when promoting people up the ranks. Do you have any thoughts to add?

@@RickKettner, you make a good point. My take is that the to be a great co., you must develop talent from within (thru' the right policies, processes and culture), and as you do that, keep working thru' applying the DEI lens at all levels across the co.

Hello, Rick, can you please make a video on note taking methods, the one that you use? Cz I read a lot but don't know how to take smart notes. And which one is the best?

I personally listen to the audiobook first and then go through the Kindle edition (if it's a good book) to make highlights that I later copy into a document to review. It's quite rare that I add my own written notes, but when I do, I just add them to the Kindle interface on my iPad.

In my opinion, the best book for you to read regarding passion (and how to develop it) is "So Good They Can't Ignore You" by Cal Newport.
