Hey thanks for sharing so on your degrees you can do the two years and not do the third year for master and still work towards accreditation with BACP?

Hi, you’re welcome 😊. On the undergraduate degree, no you can’t. But if it’s on the master’s degree, yes you can drop out and still work towards accreditation

Thank you for making those videos, Cee! So for the Undergaduate route you need level 3 diploma and then straight to Masters (without level 4) to become accredited? And any advice on how to go about choosing a masters degree and maybe deciding which is accredited if that's a thing as some places state 2y part-time as opposed to 3y full-time (I believe) as you said in the video?

Hey, thank you so much, glad the videos are helpful for you! The route you’ve mentioned is the postgraduate route so yes, you would need a level 3 diploma and then you can go on to the masters degree (but you would already need to have an undergraduate degree). I hope that makes sense? The undergraduate route would just require you to do a counselling degree and you would become qualified. Accreditation is a higher level of qualification which you would reach at PhD level or after you’ve qualified at masters level (I hope that’s not too complicated to understand). I have a video here which might help you to understand it better: kzread.info/dash/bejne/jK6M17GyisqwZbA.htmlsi=HwYVgFTUF73WB-Iq And in terms of choosing a master’s degree, you can look on the BACP website for accredited courses to save you the hassle. I have a few videos which might also help you decide and extra information in the description box of each video: 1. kzread.info/dash/bejne/e5yfq7mHXdbdnZM.htmlsi=qi90Pa-Imi3N5LNM 2. kzread.info/dash/bejne/k4iJxdRmadypfsY.htmlsi=Oebrsd3GyGNN0QjD If you have anymore questions, feel free to reach out

in terms of BACP, once you have done your Level 4 diploma or an accredited masters, would you become a counsellor or psychotherapist. I know the BACP stand for British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, so are the two interchangeable in this sense? I find it confusing as the UKCP is for psychotherapists and is usually masters level and you choose a specific modality, but BACP I assume you also learn various modalities and can end up getting the equivalent hours to BACP. Sorry for the long message, I hope to apply to maybe the L2 diploma but I'm not sure is the right route to become a psychotherapist (but at this point don't even know the difference between that and a counsellor). Thank you so much, Bub :))

Hi Bub, once you’ve done level 4 or the master’s, you would be a counsellor and psychotherapist. The terms are quite interchangeable although they have small differences, but not so much that you can’t call yourself either one. What matters more is that your course is accredited. I have a video explaining some of the differences in the terms and you can see, it’s not that different kzread.info/dash/bejne/hZ5_2rmNebWXico.htmlsi=AB66hDls8CyMOYfp Starting at level 2 would be the right way to begin if you don’t have any prior experience in counselling, so go for it!
