I think another good (but harder) option for dealing with dragon lash kick is to try to perfect parry. I know there's that set with AngryBird and Kakeru from a couple months ago (was it Game8?) where that option did serious work. It's also less punishable if you mess it up, unlike DI or anti-airing.

Very true! I didn’t include that because by now in the game’s life I feel like it’s kind of common sense. I tried to focus on some things that players may not have realized yet. But yes, PP is a great option!!

A good option I've seen from Brian F is to drive parry and input a drive reversal after as an option select. If you're too early and get a normal parry, it'll give you a bit of meter first which mitigates the drive reversal cost. If you perfect parry, the reversal won't come out and you have plenty of time to react and punish.

Hey Chris! Thanks for the great content as always. Just a tip, but I'd recommend using a pop filter when recording your voice track. You tend to have very pronounced "p" and "b" sounds and this is an easy fix. Let me know if you have any questions!

@@Chris_F For sure! Moving a little further away from the mic can help a lot. During post you can also try rolling off more of the low frequencies before applying compression.

Thanks for the info. Not sure on the Jinrai invuln reversal for my main, but lv1 super, LP, or something may help. If I ever manage to get online, hope to remember & apply those.

More to come! I might wait until the big balance patch though, I don’t want to put time and effort into something that could be irrelevant in two months or so

I'm a ken player, what's frustrating about stopping this is that it takes very little skill for Ken to implement these tactics, but requires a lot of skill, knowledge and reactions to stop them, which is pretty frustrating for the other person.

Very well said! The "ease of use" is part of his strength, thus the feeling that he can get away with everything while you can't make a single mistake. However, labor omnes vincit improbus, right? ;-)

It’s not just Ken, it’s important to know the basic matchup strats and counters versus ANY character - Ken is just very popular so I decided to make this

If someone is spamming jinrai follow-ups, u can di and he can't di back. He would have to do no follow up and di next time. It'll make him scared at least. And if he stops following up he's- 11

Also Ken players after a blocked s.LK likes to s.HK. if u microwalk and block the s.HK, you can punish it with s.LK counter at certain close range.

Pretty sure I have a KZread short on this. Check my short for the cammy lvl 3 shortcut, the inputs are the same for luke lvl 1!

Few more tips: Ken does not get any real oki after back throw. If you see him go green, you can jab him out of it. If Ken ever does the punch target combo on block, you can mash DP, he'll either cancel into OD fireball or take the guaranteed damage. Technically he can DR into a low to beat that, but I've never seen anyone do this, other than marisa players, and you can just block if you see the drive rush. If you block the second hit of the MK target combo, punish with a crouching move, because the third hit will frame trap if you try to punish with a standing move. Run tatsu is only -8 on block, not all punishes work, especially in Burnout. Cr. MK is -2 on regular hit, take your turn back.
