Here’s another rule that RV owners should follow. I just returned from a music festival where an idiot RVer put his awning out into a working road. He was on the left side of a right corner. I hit his awning in my class A as I was following a guide to my site. More than $5000 worth of damage for a new windshield and driver side mirror.

Great video! I agree with all of those tips. Dogs with no leashes on. No loud music. I use to live next door to an Rv park people played music loud when they camped. Some were quiet some weren’t. Glad I moved away from there. And then I was almost attacked going for a walk by a dog without a leash. It’s shame people do that. Thank you Izzy and MJ!

Not a fight but we were camping in a national forest campground and at night it was gloriously quiet and th e weather was great. Most everyone was sleeping with their windows open. The couple in the travel trailer next to us got very amorous and treated everyone around us the sound track of the entire event. I wanted to applaud afterwards but my wife wouldn't let me. Well to each their own.

We have been full time for almost 6yrs and have hosted at many parks in multiple states. Love your list, as a host trash in the fire pit is the big one. Not only trash but peanut shells or other nut shells. We have found that the vast majority of campers leave the site as they found it. So if a fire pit has eggs shells the next camper adds orange peels. Normally the host picks up the fire rings trash, but maybe host is doing other chores at that time and the new camper now thinks staff not doing their job.

We camp with horses. I could tell you dozens of stories about how inconsiderate irresponsible and stupid people can be imposing themselves on us and our horses. We are not a traveling petting zoo, keep your kids and selves away from our horses! I had a guy drive so close to me on a road ( he had the WHOLE ROAD, I was in the grass off the road ) that his car scraped my left stirrup! It made me sick and thank God my horse was a calm steadfast mare and not a spooky horse that could have jumped on top of his windshield. Another friend had a LOOSE PITBULL attack him while riding back to camp, all the owner said was “ boy you stayed on that horse good!” 😡 This behavior is causing a huge division to form between campers with no horses and campers who ride and the USFS and other agencies are forced to separate campers in non horse and horse camps. Problem is the non horse people are taking our horse sites without reservations and causing a lot of heartburn for those of us who work really hard to not only have, support, house, and train horses but are trying to enjoy our national forests riding. So not only do non riders take our camps that have designated reserved corrals but then we have to put up with bad behavior and loose children and loose dogs. It’s so bad now with the public that I stay away from horse designated campgrounds and just boondock.

There is a lot to unpack here. Let's see if I can comment in the same order. Wildlife: two stories: coyotes are nothing new. I had them in my yard on occasion in Massachusetts; one night on BLM land in Arizona, I heard them and thought they sounded close by; the next morning, there were paw prints in a chair. On another occasion, while camping in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts, I heard a ruckus. I looked out, and maybe 75-100 yards, a bear was having a good time inside a dumpster! Never should anyone feed wildlife! Wildlife needs to be afraid of humans so they stay away. Street parking: I do not tow anything; I have a bicycle and two feet to get around, yet I cannot think of any, even Normandy Farms, where people have not been parked in the street. If your #stuff will not fit on your campsite, get a bigger campsite or leave the #stuff at home. Litter is a real pet peeve, especially on Government land. As I see it, being allowed to camp on public land for little or no cost is a privilege (and it is a socialist program FYI,. If you abuse your privileges, you lose them. I hit the trails for about 50-70 miles a week, if I see litter I pick it up, and if I see a lot of litter, I grab a trash bag and go back. You can pick up a lot of litter in 15 minutes. I don't get as upset if the litter is in a fire pit; however, cigarette butts all over the place make me angry. If you are not smart enough to not smoke, at least be smart enough to dispose of the butts properly. Don't people know if you are going to have a loud party, invite the neighbors first?

While I don't like our computer/electronic lives here is a suggestion that involves the "benefit" of being linked. When campers pay for their site they received rules. Any infraction of the rules should result in a financial penalty. So, when the offending campers get a charge on their credit card for not complying with the park rules, they may think again about letting their dogs run free, et al.

I've been lucky to have few examples of truly bad neighbour campers. Mostly those who have trouble getting their garbage properly into the bins at the entrance to the campground, and a very few who don't grasp the concept of not walking through other's campsites. I'm generally grateful there has never been an issue with my kids' guitars and singing (just acoustic), but we try to be careful about timing and the mood of the widely spaced sites--I guess, I worry more about being the problem than whether other people are the problem.

I lived in Death Valley, CA and people were CONSTANTLY feeding the coyotes I think the main reason was because they literally behaved like domestic dogs. They would do tricks, physically beg for food and also hung around humans. I had one who literally ran beside me one time on one of my runs which kind of freaked me out at first The Rangers were constantly saying "dont feed the coyotes or the road runners" Road runners surprisingly were super agressive

We camp hosted for two summers in state parks and were absolutely blown away by the rudeness and inconsiderate behaviour from so many campers. So many campers used their fire pits as garbage dumps (to include dog poop), left their garbage on their site when they pulled out, let their dogs run loose (I was rushed several times by large dogs) and made way too much noise. Our job was bad enough emptying the trash bins but to have to pick up trash left scattered about the campground made it even worse. And to add insult to injury. . . we were sometimes treated rudely because we weren't from their state. So here we are, after spending our money on fuel to drive our RV over 1,200 miles, volunteering and picking up their trash yet taking verbal abuse because we are from out of state. To be fair, we also met really great people and made some local friends but the few that were rude we so RUDE! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

It completely escapes me how some people do not comprehend the effect their bad behavior has on others, maybe they just don't care, but in my opinion that should get you banned from returning to that campground! One thing we see all too much of is people who don't pick up after their dogs, perhaps campground management needs to cite these folks and charge them extra!

My dog is “friendly”, well there is a reason why I sit my dog to the side; my dog may chose not to be so friendly you never know. I can only say give every dog their space. Hate these people, seems they have no common sense. Also, most of these dog owners have retractable leashes which gives them no control over their dog! On a general note, I am always amazed by the campers who put so much stuff outside even if it’s only for a weekend. The only item I put out is my Blackstone grill, that’s it. Chairs go in and out the bay when needed. Maybe I am just a minimalist.

Just about every state has rules regarding the noise level allowed by generators. When people have barking dogs, loud music, or loud generators, the polite thing is to talk to them first. If that doesn't solve the problem, then they are just obnoxious jerks, and it is time to notify the campground host or park ranger.

Look, camping in public campgrounds , National parks, etc is like camping with uncle Jack. You’re never going to get everybody to think and act like you. Are you asking too much? No. However, wanting everybody in control is naive. I’m with you, but asking people to halt generations of inconsiderate behavior automatically as they pull into a Campspot is hopeful at best. Confronting them about their lifestyle is like having intervention with strangers. They are going to be clueless to your requests. It will be as if they are now being controlled by YOU. Think about it from their mindset. Do I wish we all had instant morals and respectful intentions the second I pull into my spot? Of course. This is just the reality of it. Would I pay a little extra to have a site with MY crowd. You bet, and maybe RV parks and campgrounds can figure that out. My point is, you’re dealing with the public, and we have all seen the THOSE kinds of people. We all pick up their trash, put on noise canceling headphones, avoid them, etc, and we will continue doing so.

Great tips. It amazes Missy and I that kids just run free. I think maybe I'm just too cautious when it comes to kids. Our grandkids don't go anywhere without one of us. Love the Big Bear comment.. Made me think of this clip from the Great Outdoors. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXZ-j6-pgKWqpco.html

here we go again with the generator.... as I pointed out last time, had you taken the time to read the rules for that campground you are currently at generators are allowed. What is the point of even posting rules if you ignore them? And even more amazing..... YOU OWN A GENERATOR! If you didn't have a hundred mile long extension cord running to a noisy, polluting power plant (usually located near lots of poor people) you would be running your own generator. Whatta hypocrite.

@@EndlessRVing i'm not the one complaining online about someone who is clearly following the posted generator rules. Instead of making a video, call the police- see where that goes.
