Satkunas X Well known Graffiti Writers have also done characters with their lettering, whether in a throwie or piecing.

Great, KQED supports the lame trend of tagging. All right kids, now you too can scribble nonsense everywhere so you can get the attention your parents have denied you. You may notice that the style represented here lacks creativity and follows the formula of generic graffiti so that what ever you produce will look like every other tag. Why not be original and unique? Because you are following a trend, not creating one.

Did you not pay attention to the spraying he actually did. He took a tag, added a repetition and stroke to it and created an abstracted pattern from it. It isn't just a tag, it's an evolution from that.

Kid, people have been writing modern graffiti for more than 50 years now, that doesn't sound like some lame trend to me. A lot of what he was talking about had more to do with aspects of lettering, and finding forms from abstract things and vice versa. Impressive how you're so closed minded you won't even hear what he has to say about that, let alone find out more about the long history of graffiti as an art form. Apex in 2019 is known to a lot more people as a street artist/muralist than a graffiti writer anyways. Just check his instagram and you can see the cool things that this process leads to, if you're so inclined - but no need to make such sweeping, ignorant statements about something you don't understand. I'm sure most people wouldn't have any critiques if it was Banksy doing this video smh
