It's an old ass video game trick. In older games, holding L + R + Start + Select would soft reset games back to the title screen or other effects. It stands to reason people would try similar combinations to see if they did anything.

That button combination would be an nasty trick for quitting an private match in case you decided to somehow *Rage quit* to these unfair matches when the game normally dosen't allow you. Also, good eyes. 😏

I have a screenshot of my teammate about to slam the Rainmaker in the goal with a "player disconnected ending match early" message on the screen. It wasn't in private. This was a solo queue tragedy.

It works on anarchy battles + you get a punishment lol

Well that explains why so many times I saw a dc right after my team and I popped the rainmaker shield at the beginning of the match and quickly put it on the checkpoint pedestal. Also had moments people in my team immediately dc when the enemy team pops it open and grabs it. Like bruh don't go play ranked if you can't even stand the popping of the rm shield and the enemy team picking it up immediately

Listen if you like it more power to you but people dislike it because it's objectively the worst shooter in the game, with the highest shots needed to kill at 5 and crazy spread combined with short range make it an objectively bad weapon, personally most of the hate I see comes from using it in ranked, as the main strength of the aerospray, turfing ability dosen't mean much there so its largely a detriment

This actually really helps for moderating the custom splatfests my server does, we can easily just end the battle if we notice someone cheating in spectator.

Literally just hold down on the left stick and the aerosprays can’t hit you 😂

this is actually so helpful though, i accidentally chose the wrong weapon (me and my friend were doing the weapon randomizer) and we had to play the three minute battle

I love when Nintendo adds these absurdly long button combos for simple things, like this should be one or maybe 2 buttons. But 6, AND you have to hold them for 3 seconds just so that you can quit private battles and that’s all it does. Reminds me of the down b zl zr combo from splatoon 1, or l r a start in smash bros

HEY HEY HEY. I once got eleven kills with the Aerospray MG. It has decent range, spreads a ton load of ink, has the almighty Reefslider special and looks awesome. I always get #1 Turf Inker with my MG.
