    Shortly after I got married and my husband took me off my job I had a nightmare about having to go to work and running late. It was so stressful, even in the dream. I woke up saying Thank you Jesus over and over because it was so relieved that I now worked in a place full of love and grace, my home!

    What “people” are bothered by is God’s divine order of things. They have been out of order for so long, fed and believed lies of the world. So, it’s not you that is disturbing them, it’s the fact that the lies are being shaken by your obedience to God’s original way of family structure. So, the conviction is there by your example and the lies in them are acting or rising up.

    Hi , I'm living in Europe also ( Brussels and Luxembourg). It 😊Is really not possible in now days to not work due to the financial crisis, men are counting on their wives to survive and buy fancy things. They almost chose you according to your job/ work place making plans with your salary, It's a shame that we don't have choice here, we women are proud to work and talk about our professional lives on top complaining about our colleagues and bosses all day long. I'm really tired about that lifestyle and I wish I had another option. By the way I'm still single waiting on the Lord for my Husband hoping that he will be responsible enough to provide and I will take care of our future kids and not running like crazy every single day running after the time and being tired of not having enough time to do all the things i would like to do or need to.

    I'm glad she addressed that idea that kids aren't something to run from. My husband was very young for his age when we began dating . I married him right away on paper and had a big ceremony later anyway. We had a son in our first year together. At first I was disappointed because I thought the only way our relationship would work is if I continued my lucrative career and continued to handle all the responsibility for our lives. I had many plans to continue and better my career and many vacation plans and plans to spoil my husband lol. But I watched as I brought home our son home in the middle of a blizzard, my husband got up off the couch and became a man. He finally finished putting down the new floors in our home he went and got a better job and he pushed himself to be more of a man and less like a video game obsessed boy. I am still at home and he has told me that's where he wants me to be. He used to call off tired and wasn't really concerned about providing as well as he should have been. But since we had our son and his father visited and let him know, in not so nice terms, that it was time for him to be a man, he has really been a better partner. I really don't think he would have ever grown up at all if we never had our son and if I had continued being the main provider. I loved my husband before but I saw him like my little boyfriend that I spoiled and cared for but I didn't respect him in my heart the way that I do now. Seeing him be a father and responsible and prioritize the family over playing has only deepened my love for him. Anyway I'm glad we didn't wait 7 years to have kids.

    It took me a long time to recognize that the ideas being pushed on me from the women in my life, mainly my mother, came from a place of bitterness and resentment. For a lot of women, growing up it is pushed into our brains that getting pregnant is the worst thing we can do and life ruining. Now I know the Lord wants us to be wives first but that definitely instills fear in motherhood. I was made to believe life was over when children came and you no longer were a person. It stifled my own desire to be a mother because I allowed myself to be afraid of this. I didn’t know or trust in the Lord for a long time like I do now. I pray the Lord places me in a path to be a stay at home mother. My greatest desire is to be a wife and mother. I am on the path to becoming a wife now to an amazing man. God willing mother hood is in my future as well. I love these videos so much. Thank you.

After a couple years of marriage, I found myself out of work. I got to see his true character when I was no longer bringing money home. I was naive. I thought I married him for all the right reasons. I’m only 25 minutes in and this conversation is so insightful and full of wisdom. I wanted to stop and make a comment about the fact that many people perceive being a homemaker and SAHM as not contributing financially. Well, first of all those roles are beyond monetary value, it’s so much deeper and meaningful. But, if you had to put a monetary value on it, the job of a homemaker and SAHM is probably worth 6 figures. I live in Cali and I’ve met Nanny’s that basically play the role of SAHM and housekeeper and they get paid like 40 an hour, which is way more than what I would have made with a masters degree in a stem field. I love my role as a SAHM and keeper of the home, and I know the true value of my role which will bless my family for the rest of their lives.

    Thanks ladies! I enjoyed your answering of all these questions. I am a single mom that is doing parenthood alone with the Lord and I am in a better place of accountability in my life. I do not date nor have male friends just simple because there is healing that needs to take place. I know I was not meant to do this on my own but my choices have gotten me here. I am grateful for the Holy Spirit, the Word of God and my faith community. I desire marriage one day but if it never happens I have committed to raising my daughter knowing single motherhood is not it and what the Bible says about godly relationships. I work from home and enjoy keeping my home the place of peace for myself and little one. Thanks again for sharing!

I pray they choose this family structure that as black people we need so desperatly in our communities. I think we've conditioned so much as women to go out, help, and work. Our children struggle so much and end up unable to bring what they need to bring to thrive in this world. Especially that Biblical love for God they need so much.

I gave in and got a really low level job that was horrible, they required you to work 6 days a week and you had to "request" an off day...when I told him (the elder) I wanted to leave the job he told me I needed to stick it out....I didn't listen to him I ended up getting a very flexible job...elders and pastors need to do better.

    In my core, I always wanted to be a house-wife & a mother. Maybe by instinct, or maybe it was because my Mom was a stay-at-home Mom. In 1973 when I graduated high school (in a fairly big city), we young ladies were expected (on the whole) to go to college, get a degree, & work a paying job. Only a few of my female classmates who were brought up in "genuinely" Christian homes went on to be housewives & mothers. My mom left & divorced my father in 1970. What turned out to be the very damaging "feminist" movement was really moving along in 1973. I felt like I wasn't supposed to say (muchless feel) that I wanted to be a wife & stay-at-home Mom. The "Christian" home I'd grown up in was empty of spiritual teaching, guidance, or coaching about what a Biblical marriage & family truly was. I often wonder what life might have looked like if my parents had built a genuinely Biblical marriage, AND, if "feminism" had not been unleashed on society; badly damaging the beautiful & sacred covenant of marriage as God designed it. This May (2023) will mark 50 years since I graduated. I thank Almighty God that He lead & protected me through many, many years & I've been deeply blessed with nearly two-decade long marriage that continues to grow in Christ each day. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow !

For myself it took me longer than I expected to find my voice in this realm. Until I realized how deeply rooted this position is and how I've been appointed. My foundation became much more firm and now I cannot and will not be shaken. I felt completely at home listening and also engaging. My mom submitted to my horrible father for 20years and it got her divorced and in debt. It took me packing my bags for my husband for change. Sometimes loving and submitting to our husband more will not influence change. My husband said he wouldn’t have changed has I not decided to leave. He cared more about himself than me and our kids.

  • @Prisnii

    @Prisnii

    @@amandaparrish9128 i completely understand you; but my point is wives are called to submit to our husbands. We are not called to submit to their sinful behavior, their depression, their unwillingness to lead. Sometimes submission can worsen our marriage. I read a story of a Christian wife that talked about how submitting to her husband while he was depressed worsened his behavior and depression. It wasn’t until she decided to lead the family that their marriage began to turn around. There’s also the story of the Christian wife who submitted and served her family for 10years. They took her for granted to 10years. When she got into a car accident and couldn’t cook. Her husband asked her if she wasn’t able to cook, could she order a pizza. She blew up! This wife had to set up boundaries in her own marriage to influence change. Setting up boundaries doesn’t mean disrespect. It means “this is what I’m capable and willing to do. I hope that you can respect that.” In my case, my husband had to experience a pain that was greater than his to get him to change. That pain was me and our children leaving.

    @@Prisnii You make some great points, but the examples still make the point about choosing wisely in the beginning. However, sometimes issues do come up after you are married and submitting can be challenging. The BIble calls us to submit to our husbands as unto the Lord but that NEVER calls us to submit to sinful and unGodly behavior. It never calls for us to submit to leadership that is not God honoring or is foolish. Unfortunately, some wives have lost their lives from submitting to the unbiblical leadership of a wayward or abusive husband. The Bible does call us to use wisdom, however.That includes wisdom in choosing a mate and in how to properly follow his leadership. In some cases, wisdom does call for a wife to move out of the way so that God can do a work in the husband’s heart. That is also submission. Submission has NEVER meant being a doormat.

  • @Prisnii

    @Prisnii

    Жыл бұрын

    @@amandaparrish9128 Im not disagreeing that we should choose wisely. I’m disagreeing that the examples I gave are of women that chose unwisely with the exception of my mother. She admitted she did not choose wisely. The examples are all of Godly men but we are human. We fall short, we stray away from God, sometimes it takes years for a person to get back on track. Just because a spouse strays from God doesn’t men the other spouse chose wrong. None of us are perfect. The examples I gave are just examples of how not submitting resulted in bettering the marriage. Saying “choose wisely” is a cop out. Even if you chose wisely. You’re still going to run into similar issues that I mentioned above. Just because you choose wisely doesn’t means everything is going to be perfect. There will be issues but as long as you see life the same it can be worked out. Once again, my point was that submission isnt always the solution. Sometimes it can worsen the marriage.

  • @amandaparrish9128

    @amandaparrish9128

    @@Prisnii I can definitely understand what you are saying. I did mention that things do happen in marriage and life is not perfect, but choosing wisely is not a cop out. Many times women will choose a guy who is not a leader before marriage and then wonder why he wont lead after marriage. There are always signs in the beginning. Also, women often get submission confused, submitting to unbiblical ways or abuse is not what the bible calls for. In cases like the ones that you mentioned and even some that I have seen, it is always biblical to use wisdom. Using wisdom does not mean that you are not submitting. It is best to know what submission really means and in what cases does it call for. Unfortunately, churches don’t do a great job of explaining it. That is why we have to study the word for ourselves.
