Nintendo kept the series running with the Wii U. And that was enough to give her third party status. Then the Smash ballot happened. And the rest is history.

I don't think that in particular is supposed to be a joke. Bayonetta is a really well designed character, it's just that her combo game was so strong that many Smash players gravitated towards hating that instead of appreciating what we got. Including you.

You're not the only one. To be honest, I dont see why people are mad about Corrin. He wasn't the smash ballot winner, and it wasn't our desicion. It was Sakurai who decided. I love Corrin, because I knew who he was. But I hated Bayonneta, because I didn't. Many people didn't like corrin because of that reason, and claim that he wasted a spot. He's not a generic swordfighter, he has a different playstyle, like bayonneta.

Meh. I think Corrin was added because marketing. -Most of the character in the ballot were 3rd party (Shovel Knight and Shantae are perfect examples). Nintendo probably didn't want to pay the royalties for another character and chose him/her. That's also proven by another question: Who voted for this character? Almost no one, 'cause at the time, it was only out in Japan. How do you vote for someone with a giant question mark as a moveset? Again, almost no one. The same "almost no one" was, damn, the same amount of people who knew about this character as well. Outside of Japan, of course. -Free advertising for Fates. And that'd be right, if it didn't have to rig the ballot for *money* -Or else, if it's not about the therefore mentioned "free advertising" point, it's about japanese software houses caring only for their japanese fanbases. This is the thing I hate most in Japanese games. I mean, sure it's right, but we also exist, you know? :/ Again, I'd feel totally right with it. But we've been asked for *OUR* characters, the character for which *WE* lost time and internet broadband to vote for. They're also the main reasons *WE* have been looking for every Nintendo Direct about Sm4sh in six motherfreaking months, getting hyped and hoping for *OUR* favourite character to get in. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand that's it. Our time and dedication was repaid with a huge, enormous advertising spam. *GOOD* Sorry for the arguments barrage and thanks a lot for reading all of this.

+Fede 64 Hey, Free advertising is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact its a good marketing strategy. But this marketing was happening before Corrin came to Smash, even as far back as Melee. If you want to blame anything for Corrin in SSB4, blame Melee. Everyone played Marth and Roy in Melee, and wanted Fire Emblem in the US (Marketing. look at that... Huh). I don't think Fire Emblem was even supposed to come to the US (because Japan was worried that it wouldn't make it in the US market) except people wanted to play it because Marth and Roy came from Fire Emblem. Thus FE came to the US, FE Radiant Dawn, FE Awakening and FE Fates (Birthright or Conquest) were created, Ike, Robin, Lucina and Corrin were thought up, and they made it into Smash Bros. I love, love, LOVE Fire Emblem, and I'm sick of everyone complaining about all the FE fighters, but if you insist on complaining about all the Fire Emblem fighters, you have nothing to blame but SSB itself.

You know I want to play smash online like this but I'm really afraid of just millions of people better than me. I prefer dodging over blocking and I do neither of them. Plus my character choices aren't really the best. Mains include Mr. Game and Watch, Samus, and Corrin I guess despite not a lot of experience. I sometimes play Kirby, Dark Pit, R.O.B, and Mewtwo but not enough I would consider them mains. I need to learn how to block and dodge roll effectively.

the dark one Don't be worried, you have nothing to lose by playing online . But if you really want to practice, then I'd recommend reconsidering your mains. For example, I main Mario, Captain Falcon, and Fox due to my aggressive and fast play style. I'd recommend trying Mario, he's decently fast and can really help you start comboing. But, if you want to keep your mains, then fight level 7-9 CPU's. Even if you can't beat them, it is amazing practice, especially against fast characters, which will give you more of an idea of when to roll. Another great fighter to go against is Samus. Her projectiles provide you the idea of how to avoid projectiles, when to dodge them, and possible counter moves, such as Game and Watch's down B on the plasma shot. DeDeDe is another good fighter to go against. His attacks can give you an idea of hit boxes, such as DeDeDe's forward tilt, and being able to read the opponent's moves, such as with DeDeDe's side smash. Let me know if you want any other tips, and good luck ^^

This is first video I've watched of yours, and the first thing that came into my head was like, "Oh, Egoraptor made a new channel."

The amount of absoutle cringe in the comment section, is enough to make another sword anime character, be implemented in Smash.

I don't really see why people think this shit is okay. The DLC characters are very obviously buffed just to get more sales. I'm sick of every 13 year old picking payonetta and spamming her stupid fucking artificial combos, and high priority slide move bullshit, and fucking getting away with it.

If your still having problems with bayonetta then you just straight up suck, she was nerfed hard. Really now? Tell that to Roy and lucas, both being pretty mediocre and some might say less than mediocre. Mewtwo was pretty horrible but now he's pretty good, nothing OP. The only 2 that are amazing are ryu and cloud (cloud might drop considering he gets gimped easily)

^^ And even amazing characters can fall on their face in incompetent hands. As for Bayonetta, I find that I win against her more often than I lose. Her side-up-side-up special combo is actually pretty easy to stop if you see it coming, and good ol' Greninja seems able to DI out of it pretty reliably if the first hit does land.

I don't know if anyone's said this yet, or if you've found this out yet, but you can jump, up special, double-jump, and up special again. It can be useful.

So a gun is violent but, breathing fire on your opponent, cutting them with a sword the size of a person, firing cannons at them, punching them so hard that your fist catches fire, grabbing them with a snake, crushing them under a dinosaur, throwing lightning at them, eating them alive, or throwing a literal fucking saw blade at your opponent isn't violent at all?

Bayo mirror matches are literally the most fun I've had in Smash.

I still have no idea what the fuck Bayonetta even had to do with Smash until people started putting her on the ballot......

I’m not sure if he was joking or not about Nintendo and characters in Smash, but the reason they can’t get all the characters that their fans want is because they need to get contracts for various characters. This costs a lot of money and time. If he was joking, then you (the reader) can treat this comment as a fun trivia fact.

I though that Bayonetta was the only Smash Ballot character and that Corrin was only added because Fates was coming out. I don't think Nintendo was ignoring fans by adding Corrin *instead* of another character, they were listening by adding Bayonetta. Corrin was just promotional, completely unrelated.
